Microwaves are used to heat up Holly's meatloaf.  A deadly projectile if I say so myself...

*hides in the closet now*

Lockit -> RE: Resolutions for the New Year... (12/26/2010 3:33:51 PM)

You mean when she isn't blowing up the microwave?

I have never made new years resolutions. I knew I would break them if I did and I just thought it was silly to promise to do something I surely wouldn't do. lol

Yet, this year, I guess I am working on some goals that are more specific than any other year. One is to cut back on all expenses so that I can try to save for a few things. One would be a move to the country, where my family is all moving and where my son, who is improving by the day, really needs to be. The other is medical. Then there is getting this place ready to be sold.

I already want to quit! lol

Drink the blood of the innocent.

I see resolutions as a set up for failure.

This is highly a matter of personal perspective, of course; i.e. it's all in the mind and has everything to do with the power of positive thought. You either "resolve" to do something, or you don't. If you think you can, you probably will. If not, then no. But then, this is true of most of the rest of life as we know it, n'est ce pas?

Interesting. I knew a group of people who talked about resolutions as the thought and intention as the action. They were very intent upon their resolve. There was a huge snow storm once and they were intent upon getting to a briss. I'm not sure if a certain number is required or they wanted a certain number because of house size or what, but despite the snow storm they had exactly the right number. It was teh people who were intent upon their resolve. I remember talking with one of the women who was so clear. No, we made this decision, and we are going to make it happen. Do we need to borrow a four wheel drive? Do we have directions? Are we dressed properly, etc. It was really amazing to see how her focus got so practical.

Best,
sunshine

Boy, are you in the wrong place for that!  [sm=angel.gif]

You know, I've never failed at a resolution as far as I can remember. Maybe keeping them small and reasonable, step by step, getting the support I need - whether that be a calendar or a cheerleader. I love having a time to review my life and the things I've done and find places I can improve and making a plan to improve... then following through.

I resolve to put my needs first every so often from now on.

I am available to any of you who need help with your resolutions. I will happily point out your faults, free of charge.

Sweet of me...huh?

I swear that I really did have a dish blow up last week.  I immediately thought of you.  [sm=hearts.gif]

subinlife -> RE: Resolutions for the New Year... (12/26/2010 5:11:57 PM)

Normally I don't make any. This year I think I need to.

Take better care of myself.

To paraphrase Diamonds Are Forever, finding an innocent here is like finding a virgin in a maternity ward!

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: Resolutions for the New Year... (12/26/2010 6:00:00 PM)

If he can find an innocent around here, I'll eat Holly's meatloaf.

Lockit -> RE: Resolutions for the New Year... (12/26/2010 6:03:40 PM)

ROFLMAO!

Aneirin -> RE: Resolutions for the New Year... (12/26/2010 8:18:28 PM)

Resolution, well, as usual no promises, but continue to try to succeed in the usual stuff.

Oh, a get laid this year.

Here's a short TED presentation by Derek Sivers for y'all to consider.  This talk is one of the reasons i only posted a resolution that i already had taken steps to achieve.

Phoenixpower -> RE: Resolutions for the New Year... (12/27/2010 6:09:30 AM)

those ones:

The usual...lose weight, stop eating fatty foods, keep my room "clean"

as well as staying away from mental as well as physical brickwalls....somehow I kept running into those in the last few months...and it is freaking time to find my inner balance and stability again [&o] which was even pointed out by my ex recently [&o] so when even he realises that change in me its time to get more back to my old self [:o] though i doubt that the next 12 months will be enough time for that [:o]

I also hope to manage to get all my debts cleared throughout the next year (apart from student debts)...but for that at first I need to find a different job [8|]

so with that sorted now can we now finally leave this damn year behind us...[8|] NOW [>:]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Resolutions for the New Year... (12/27/2010 12:53:08 PM)

Addition to my resolutions...

STOP EATING BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!!!

I like this one.  Can we keep him?

BKSir -> RE: Resolutions for the New Year... (12/27/2010 12:58:50 PM)

Keeping mine simple this year, I'm too busy for complex things.

Work out at least 3 times per week for an hour (I'm paying for my damned gym membership, I may as well use it)
Not to die in a zombie or alien attack.
Create at least 25 new and unique meals... preferably good ones. ;)
