No, that ain't no typo:
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/12/shock-christian-leader-pat-robertson-favors-marijuana-legalization/

I'll bet he was listenin' to Black Sabbath backwards.

Charles6682 -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/24/2010 10:12:03 PM)

I read about that earlier today.I couldn't believe it.Pot Robertson of all people.Even he realizes that locking someone in jail for pot is a waste.I think even the conservatives are finally getting it.I hope this trend continues.

DarkSteven -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/25/2010 3:29:50 AM)

I checked it out.  Unlike many of his recent pronouncements, it sounds lucid.

I'm not sure whether he said it because he believes it, or because in a conservative world increasingly dominated by Palin, Beck, and Limbaugh, he's being squeezed into irrelevancy if he doesn't say something like this.  The fact that, after his statement, a spokesperson had to call and clarify what he said, indicates that this wasn't that calculated a move.

Yay!

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/25/2010 5:53:01 AM)

If he is for it, I almost feel obligated to be against it.  I guess that having a jackass like him on your side is good........maybe...

I'll go to the porch, and think on it in a bit.

Merry Christmas!

MrRodgers -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/25/2010 7:23:35 AM)

Kinkroids, many conservatives have been for the decriminalization of drugs for many years.

Like Milton Freidman said, you are dealing with a crime that neither party is interested in reporting. So with drug laws the state creates a crime out of an otherwise indistinct, mutually desired, human endeavor...why ?

Termyn8or -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/25/2010 9:35:33 AM)

FR

Even Soros threw some money at legalization. Maybe he envisioned hemp fields all over the country, like where the gov pays farmers not to grow ?

There ya go...that's the ticket. I want the govt. to pay me...NOT to grow pot. Hell, they would pay me NOT to grow just about anything else...if I was a farmer.

I am the guy you see down at the Old Saw Pub hav'n a beer with the guys, comparing subsidy checks while bitch'n about welfare cheats.

Termyn8or -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/26/2010 12:01:45 AM)

"I'll bet he was listenin' to Black Sabbath backwards."

Well since it's my ole buddy HK, why not ?

Ever stop to think how hard it is to listen to something backwards these days ? In the old days you could slip the belt off the turntable and hand run it backwards. You could realign or rewire tape heads and accomplish the same thing. Try that with a CD player and it just don't work.

Some higher end CD players had pitch controls, I had one but I never saw one with a backwards control. What are they hiding ?

And tell Pot Robertson that the good shit on the east side came in, and there ain't much left. (don't even think it)

Termyn8or -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/26/2010 12:03:24 AM)

"to pay me...NOT to grow pot"

If they did that I would use the money to set up a grow room.

For money, probably to buy more pot.

You're looking at this wrong...The very fact that Pat Robertson agrees with your position should tell you how wrong you are. He has never been right about anything before.

Butch

Charles6682 -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/26/2010 12:17:36 PM)

I have never agreed with Pat Robertson on really anything before.His past comment's have been beyond distgusting.The comment about Haiti was really out there.However,on this one particular issue,I finally have to say that I actually agree with him.I'm surprised he has figured this out but he has.Locking people up in jail because they choose to smoke some weed,is a foolish and frankly,immoral act itself.It serves no one any purpose at all.

For the fiscal conservative's,this is just common sense.Locking people up in your jails for having a few joints waste millions of dollars every year.If your looking to cut government cost without having to cut any government services,then this is basic common sense.

The social problem of locking someone in jail for this is worse.It makes otherwise descent good people,out to be some common criminal.Most people who smoke weed are usually law abiding citizen in every other respect.

I am glad to see Pat Robertson understand this.People like him,Ron Paul,Arnold from California and many more are starting to finally realize the reality of this situation.I've been reading about other conservative Republicans who understand this issue as well.More than anything,this is a non-partsian issue,period.Basic common sense reforms can save everyone money and wasted lives at the same time.

Charles6682 -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/26/2010 12:23:23 PM)

More states are also legalizing medical marijuana too.Even Conservative leaning Arizona just recently legalized medical marijuana.Thats now 15 states to do so.The trend continues.

kdsub -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/26/2010 12:27:09 PM)

Well then don't break the law...change it...Myself I am all for a good fine and community service but to let people off free for breaking the law is wrong Pat...and cohorts.

Actually its easier than ever. Most MP3 editors, even free ones, have a reverse feature.

pahunkboy -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/26/2010 6:33:40 PM)

My best guess is that the OP has not inhaled.

Ever...

Elisabella -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/26/2010 6:52:14 PM)

Very cool. This ridiculous prohibition is so outdated. It's nice to think that even the fundamentalist Christians can get on board with this.

odd note, grandpa smoked weed back when it was legal while he went to college lol

PyrotheClown -> RE: Pot Robertson (12/26/2010 11:34:51 PM)

Kinda makes ya wanna call up the prez and say
"Hey Obama, have you heard?Pat Robertson is taking a more progressive liberal social stance then you...Time to hustle if you wanna win in 2012"
