This year's winter solstice — an event that will occur next Tuesday — will coincide with a full lunar eclipse in a union that hasn't been seen in 456 years. The celestial eccentricity holds special significance for spiritualities that tap into the energy of the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year and a time that is associated with the rebirth of the sun.

"How to make Moon Water:

When the moon is full it's time for make moon water. When it's available water from a rushing river or brook is nice however like most of us we do not have that flowing freely in our back yards so a good substitute is bottled spring water. Fill a clear jar or bottle with spring water and set it outside where the light of the full moon will shine on it. Leave it there as long as the moon is out. Ask the Goddess to bless the water with her light and love. Now be sure to bring it in before day break, and keep it tightly closed whenever not in use.

This water will be used in all rituals and spells that require water. When the next full moon comes, pour the remaining water in the grass or a garden (don't pour it down the drain!!!!) and prepare to make a fresh batch."

"Moonwater" is non-alcoholic and is often not even consumed (but it certainly can be). It is made by taking the freshest, cleanest, clearest water one can come by, pouring said water into squeaky-clean see-thru containers (glass or crystal is best), and setting them outside all night, anywhere that the Moon's light can reach and infiltrate them for the greatest period of time. This nice water may then be used in many capacities, often as a blessing on inanimate objects to be used in spells, as a ward on that which needs protecting, sometimes as an ingredient in a hot bath (or any purification ritual), or yes, in anything to be consumed by self or others in which a certain Divine influence is desired.. EDITED to add: I see that RF has beat me to the punch, or to the moonwater as it were. Did you look that up old sock, or is there something about yourself you'd like to share with the class *nudge nudge wink wink*..
