A teacher had that happening, somebody put an obituary in the local press, the days before you needed to show ID (it is a while ago, I was in school), turned out it wasn't even a pupil who failed a class but the soon to be ex wife, if it wouldn't be really cruel, it would have been funny, he didn't know as he was away skiing for the weekend, showed up in school on Monday and the pupils were screaming as you don't expect a dead person to give you a maths test. We were a bit naughty to an ex landlord, he never paid deposits back (we learned that after we moved out, shared student flat) and really ripped us off, relying on the fact we couldn't afford to sue him, so we went to an internet cafe, put some online ads up, selling his car cheap and another a really cheap flat to rent ("students welcome" - works really well about 2 months before university starts in a university town), and said due to shift work ring between 3 am and 6 am, with his private phone number. More of a revenge prank, but he was a real jerk, had us sign a contract for a renovated flat, of course it was not renovated, he said he would get it renovated before we move in and charged a huge deposit due to the renovations he was planning, never renovated it and in a university town you don't find a flat shortly before your courses start, so we had to move in, when we moved out he demanded that it gets renovated (painted, new floors, etc) as it is in the contract, so we did it ourselves since we couldn't afford a company or painter and decorators, which then wasn't professionally done and he kept the deposit. When we learned he does it regularly to students (that's why he didn't mind renting to freshmen) we were up for some revenge...
