You made me laugh.. was that "summarized" enough for the summarizer..LOLOLOLOL

I went direct to the supplier.  I started laughing as so as I read the "summerizer"'s initial post.

Admittedly, this one made me laugh harder

Thanks for your support, everyone!  (And also for the  humor - wow, a fight on my very own thread!  I'm an insider now!)

The gentleman in question dissipated my little bout of melancholy very nicely by emailing to tell me that I'm dishonest and hypocritical, and also that he didn't say what he said.  Okey-doke!  He doesn't know I keep chat logs, but I'll let him have the last word and chalk him up as another valuable lesson.

It's heartening to know that my instincts are sound.  So, instincts, get on the ball and hunt me up some GOOD men!

(agirl, Lysol is the brand name of a powerful household disinfectant.  Germophobic people go around spraying it on everything and choking the rest of us!)

The funny thing about this thread is when you compare it to all the threads about wannabes and players etc.

It's just the irony that amuses me. I don't need to expand any more than that unless you are IQ deficient.

Why is it we (subs) feel so damn awful when this happens!!  I mean really think about, each and everyone of us most likely speaks to a few individuals thru some chat medium.  We chat with these people cause we do share something that holds some promise.  Every so often the opertunity might present itself that we get to meet them.  Not every meeting is going to produce ~the one~......... so if it's not
~the one~ then isnt it only fair to say so even if it does make you feel awful?  If we play along just to avoid the ugly then were doing no more then branding ourself the player we all complain about.... it's tough, but you did the right thing.!

Not to hijack the thread but Lysol has a sordid history indeed.

As for the OP...yes, you definitely made the right choice calling it off when you did.  It's not an easy thing to do (you don't want to be necessarily rude, after all), but certain things have a way of spiraling out of control unless they're nipped in the bud.

Do I speak from experience?  Oh yes indeedy.

How true!

The artistry and craft involved in the rationalizations of my bete noir left me gasping for breath. She should really have been a lawyer and not a social worker.

I have to confess to being guilty of rationalizing myself but I haven't been able to eject the little voice in my head that calls me a 'lying fucker' when I do it.

I, for one, don't believe in guilt.  I may feel badly about something, but never guilty.  You made the right choice, evidenced by his last message.  Just let it go and move on.

I bet you believe in locking up criminals who are guilty of a crime! But that is being melodramatic.

People who lead people on can leave behind someone's life in a chaotic mess. Moving on is one thing, forgetting is another. And I don't see why the dispicable behaviour of someone should be forgiven and forgotten if they haven't got the integrity and moral backbone to explain and apologize for their actions. That is not a lot to ask for, especially when that someone professes to having an abundance of moral integrity in the first place.

Sometimes people should feel guilty and those that don't when they should, simply expose their own flaws for all to see.

If it doesn't feel right, it's not right.  Don't sweat it.  Besides, he showes his true colors anyway, didn't he?
