Sad news. I loved 'Police Squad' and all the 'Naked Gun' films. And he had a starring role in The Forbidden Planet, too.

RIP, Leslie. What a shame. He was a great talent. I didn't realize he 84, though. Good for him. He had a good run.

Damn, any one else notice that for the last 20 years, he didn't really seem to age in any noticeable fashion..really, check it out for your self. pop in a copy of naked gun if you have it(youtube it if you don't) then check out scary movie three, he looks exactly the same. shame thou, don't think I can name a single actor or comedian who can deliver deadpan like he did

He'll surely be missed. His career went from dramatic to comedy roles seamlessly. And he was great at making people laugh. May his family take comfort that he was a great actor loved by his many fans and he'll be missed greatly. RIP.

I was soooo sad this morning to hear he is gone...He was one of my favorites...Rest in peace Leslie! I am as sad as when two of my other favorites William Holden and Steve McQueen died....

Matt Dillan ( James Arness )from 'Gunsmoke' was his brother. Both great actors..It's too bad we have to see O J in the airplane movie.

Nope, you're thinking of Peter Graves. Leslie Nielsen's brother was a conservative MP in Canada.
