The problem with that is that it would have to be a fairly expensive pay site. You pay to be listed and you pay to check out the ones wanting something. The only way to e absolutely certain that someone is what they claim to be...or want...is to have someone talk to them in person and verify any information they give. Toss in background checks and whatever other checks you want to make and how much are you willing to be to be listed on such a site and how much are you willing to pay to search such as site after you have paid to be verified? This is the first thing that crossed my mind - that it would cost money to do these checks and right now this is a free site. So what do you want OP? A free site or one that verifies information? Even if the verifying didn't cost money in and of itself, it does cost in manpower to do it, and the site runs on whatever manpower they have at the moment...they'd have to add more.

It's kind of like when you were little and you wished there was a money tree so you could get the toys you desire, but then you grew up and found out that you had to work for things like that. You have to do the work yourself for everything- so get to work    That is said in the nicest way possible, it is frustrating to be disappointed but there will always be people out there that hurt us, cheat us, or just want to get whatever it is that floats their boat without a thought to what happens with the other person. That exists everywhere and you have to develop a BS detector at some point after the age of 5.

Examples would be Pro Doms, seeking play partners only, seeking 24/7 live in slaves, seeking ltr D/s, etc. It doesn't address the fake issue per se, spammers, nor does it root out dishonesty but it would eliminate some confusion in the search. I am always seeking new friends and play partners but I often find folks obscure their financial requirements from their profile.

There are sites for professional certifications. I'm familiar with I.T. and Engineering and Project Management certification. Dedicated organizations provide these certifications. Their purpose is to provide a level of trust in a person's identity, knowledge and skill levels to a miminum acceptable level.

I suspect your question taken seriously would be well met by such an expanded and dedicated organization that performs such like certifications for Doms and slaves. Much like vanilla certifications, that organization would provide the training and in-person testing and verification of the Dom or slave's credentials. There might be different certifications for BDSM Dom and Gorean Master as well as like submissives or slaves.

Given we spend much time and money and energy on this chosen path I can see spending the money and time getting this certification, easily.

Is that too much or very close to what you are "wishing for"?

Status: offline 		I have said repeatably that there should be a bdsm card like a drivers liscence and that to get it you would be required to have an STD test and that you would have to take a test on different aspects of play, aftercare etc.

However as was pointed out to me by the heads of my local munch group. No one would do it because people would lie, and there is too much of a concern about privacy.

Status: offline 		Plus having textbook knowledge doesn't translate into real-life good practices. Think about how many people have a driver's license and then cause wrecks, drive drunk, etc. Knowing what they should do and doing it are entirely separate matters.
