I am grateful for... 1. That I am alive...woohoo...didn't think I would be. I survived lymphoma four times and have been in remission about five years now, give or take a year. It is soooo good to lose track of when I had it last. 2. I am grateful for my son, my mother, my Cousin Jill, and all my furbabies (six of them, aargh); for memories of loved ones that are no longer with me; and for making new friends. 3. I am grateful for my hundred something year old house, that always has something going wrong with it... 4. I am grateful for my new (okay, got it about 3 years ago, lol) used minivan that is nineteen years old. I'm trying to see if I can eventually turn her into an antique...it's my favorite car and I will be upset when she no longer runs. 5. I will have to copy number one from pam's list, slightly edited: quote:
The fact that i have ... a place to live, and enough to eat. There have been times when i haven't had those things. i know there are many people nowadays who don't have those things, through no fault of their own. i feel for them. 6. I am grateful that we have one decent buffet in town, and that it's Chinese food. I love eating the meat and veggies...with chopsticks. 7. I am grateful for friends that I have had for 17 to twentysomething years even though they can drive me mad. When I was a kid, we lived in a new state or city almost every year, so it has been a strange thing for me, getting used to having others outside of immediate family in my life over the years. 8. I am grateful for chocolate. What Hershey took away, my favorite variety, angelicaJ found on a website for me...and next month, I will be baking brownies and chocolate cake for the first time in years. Yes indeedy...I stopped baking those when Hershey retired my favorite European Style dutched cocoa powder. I am going to be almost drunk on cocoa powder the entire month of December, lol. 9. I am grateful for...my inner child 10. I am grateful for this old cranky computer that I bought at a no-kill animal shelter's second hand store...for only $25. 11. I am grateful for...books, and movies on DVD. 12. I am grateful that I love knitting hats, making crazy quilts by hand, sewing stuff with a machine, and crafts.
