Sorry,  it most cases it doesn't matter.  I could care less if a politician is gay.

But, when we are speaking of religion that's different ground.  The people have a right to expect the leader to follow the dogma.  If you can't you need to be some where else.

It's a church HE founded. There isn't a dogma. This isn't a Catholic church we are talking about. And, for that matter, if you look into it you'll find that there are differences of opinion in the Catholic church. Religious leaders of all types are allowed to have different opinions. While Baptists are infamous for being anti-guy I know of two Baptist ministers off-hand who welcome homosexuals in their churches. One is even trying to have an open lesbian appointed to the church board.

Face it... dogma isn't carved in stone and every single leader has to do things exactly the same way. In Judaism, even older than Christianity, there are HUGE differences. Some Reform Rabbis will even eat ham.

If his followers don't like it and enough leave, his church -  that he founded - will crumble. Otherwise it will grow stronger. Churches and church leaders are allowed to change, grow and take on new directions. It happens all the time.

People lie to themselves all the time....he may have come to this realization late in life. He may have reached a point sometime ago when he knew he was gay. Maybe before, maybe after he started the church.
The thing is he learned and grew, and isn't that part of the churches place? To help people learn and grow and accept each other?
But being the cynic I am I can't help but wonder if he didn't get caught with his junk in the wrong place and came clean before a scandle?

I really wish I would get proven wrong about comminuty leaders and whatnot...

What's wrong with P&R?

Come on over.

I dont eat cookies much, and I am lactose intolerant.  Fuck P&R.  The intolerance there is worse than my lactose intolerance.
