Hello all, I have been seriously thinking (moreso lately) about having breast augmentation done. BUT I have no clue where to start looking for an experienced trans-friendly surgeon in the area. I am in Newmarket and ideally would like to find someone nearby (and someone who can go through OHIP or isn`t overly pricey).

What have your experiences been researching different surgeons. Have you had BA already? Could you tell me a little about your experience, results and surgeon? How about any other thoughts/suggestions/advice?

Thanks in advance,

Stephanie

I never really thought about the topic.  I know a few gals that had the breasts shrunk.

I don't like fake tits.

I couldn't find an edit button, so I'm replying instead.

I feel I should have specified I'm not looking for the fake look, or large breasts at all. Just a little something extra to help fill out my bra, since I barely fill out an A cup as it is ..

Stick with what you have, fake tits look and feel fake, I have yet to see a set I liked better than the original items.

Excuse my ignorance but i thought hormone treatment was the first step...Other than that perhaps a site more aimed at your circumstance would give better advice.

I'm trans ftm, so I'm not super knowledgeable about mtf issues, but I do know some. From what I understand, augmentation is usually only performed after hormonal treatment for a minimum of 18 months. Have you been on hormones that long? If yes, you might try posting on trans forums to look for an appropriate surgeon. I think you'd have better luck finding someone than on here. And who cares if they don't feel exactly the same as un-augmented breasts. If having the procedure done would make you feel better, than that is what is important, not pleasing some guy!

What you need to do is see the results of the doc's work a couple of years after surgery.

Some end up with a look like hard dried grapefruits in floppy sacks... skill of the surgeon. Make sure you pick an artist and not just a body mechanic.

Hormones have given me what I have today.

I decided not to limit my question to just transsexual sites, since the topic and questions apply to all women and not just a small group of us.

I hear massage works. OK, it might not work but you and a special friend can have a lot of fun trying.

Well, if you're looking for a trans-friendly surgeon, I highly doubt many cis-gender women will be knowledgeable about where to find one. Also, since you're in Canada, can't you ask the National Health Service or whatever its called for a referral?

I can't help on where to look but fake or real, big or small....they are breasts! What isn't there to love? :)

The local group that I know of has a list but they give no particular endorsement.  This is the only one that I found on there for Canada:

Not all breast augmentation uses silicone: http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/22/breast.cancer.fat.reconstruction/index.html?iref=allsearch
