I'm really sorry.

DesFIP -> RE: It dont look good for our doggie. (11/11/2010 1:18:36 PM)

My condolences. I had my retriever in because he just wasn't eating and all the blood work came back fine, two days later they redid it and liver enzymes were a mess. He lasted the weekend to say goodbye to all of us and then died at the vet's on Monday morning before we could even make the decision to end his pain.

I miss him terribly and the one we had before him. They give us so much love.

Thank you Sandra, there's still a small hope it's not Cancer, but I don't know what else would put so many lumps on her body. She played today and was happy to be let out of the yard to see my neighbors kids. So I don't think she's in pain.

I am sure it is not easy.

I wont take on old pets.

My cat was 1 year old when I got her.   My dog was 3 years old.  Both a good age- to live a long time.

She wasn't old when she was adopted either:) I don't know how old she was, I didn't adopt her Daddy did and he don't remember.

I am thinking next time around I want to get a dog that's young enough to influence their habits and their socializing.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. It is so easy to love someone that loves you unconditionally, as our pets tend to do. Peaceful and best wishes for you and yours.

areallivehuman -> RE: It dont look good for our doggie. (11/11/2010 5:10:57 PM)

Sorry about your dog. Weird, my dog got the same diagnosis Tuesday. He's 11.
I saw a bumper sticker once, " I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am."

I'm so sorry.  You know I just went through this with my cat last week.  Remember all the kind things you wrote to me, and know that I am sending them back your way.  I wish there were something more that I can say, but you know that you love and adore her and she knows this, too.  My wishes for manageable test results and a better than you expect reaction from your Daddy.  It's just so hard when we love them so much, but they really do rely on us to make the best decisions for them.  Be strong.

From my family to yours...

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: It dont look good for our doggie. (11/11/2010 6:30:16 PM)

Thank you Red. Daddy was oddly ok. I told him it's bad the vet said...... And I expected crying and blubbering like when I told him about my dog, but he he just said if it's cancer it's cancer we don't have the money for treatments leave it alone ok.  And then he said  I am going to go lay down with my dog and cry, but there wasn't a whole lot of crying last night, we just quietly watched tv.

We will try to do the best we can by her, and pray may we know when the best just isn't enough any more.[:)]

Ps, to any concerned, when I say blubbering please note I am not using the term derogatorily or anything, blubber is the closest description to the crying and talking and soul wrenching all at once that took place last time this sort of thing hit our family

I'm sorry to hear that about Poochie... [:(]

We have two doggies and even the tiny thought of them leaving us just brings me to tears.

MistressLavinia -> RE: It dont look good for our doggie. (11/11/2010 7:22:29 PM)

I'm so sorry your going through that with your dog. I hope you are able to give comfort and get comfort as well, and I really hope Ginger doesn't suffer at all. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Toppingfrmbottom -> It's cancer , she has lympho sarcoma (11/11/2010 9:12:42 PM)

Thank you Lavina. The vett confirmed it, it's cancer, he wants some x rays to see how her insides *look and to make sure her liver and her kidney isn't being enlarged, and now every once in a while she coughs so we need to make sure it's not in her lungs or pressing on her windpipe.

He says we can try prednizone, to slow the growth and spread of the cancer, and just do regular progress checks on her, try to manage it that way.

I hope too she's not in pain, that thought more than anything is what hurt heart, that my precious baby is / could be suffering.

TFB, I am so sorry to hear that it isn't a good diagnosis. I know that having gone through Porsche's death a couple of weeks ago that this is so very hard, and I wish for you and your Daddy the courage to be wise and strong for Ginger's sake. (((Hugs)))
