Are you 100% sure the water supply being fed to you all these years wasnt through a lead pipe?

I have copper pipes.

I am certain of if.  And so did the last 2 places I lived.

Seriously I wish I knew what was wrong with me.  I am a dead man walking.

Your symptoms sound like that condition technically known as 'zombieitus'. I know this because I'm an amateur doctor.

If this is a neighbor, chances are your house is the same. I know about a half dozen houses on this street were built by the same guy. Nice job if you can get it, build a house and sell it, then build another.......

When they come for you, you bust up the basement where the main comes in, cut the brass pipe and attach a copper pipe. Scrap the brass to pay for the copper pipe and a bag or two of cement. Pour it on in there and watch it dry. If they wonder about permits and shit like that just use Termy's response #147. "Been that way since I got here".

Last permit issued on this house was about fifteen years ago, it said valid until the work was complete. Of course it is never complete. But if you don't have that #147 usually works well.

You may think I'm kidding but I'll be damnned if I need permission to work on my own house. And our illustrious water dept sent some notices around. I gotta get this regulator or a pressure spike could cause damage. Either pay up or sign off on the damage. Time for Temy tool #34 - a Zippo lighter. Don't get me wrong I use a black Bic, but the Zippos are actual tools and share a place with the duct tape and the coat hangers. I even have a super Zippo about 5" tall. This thing is a riot because you can light it with your feet. I have done so in front of witnesses.

The city - fukum. I remember when they bitched about an old delapidated screen door. HA. The olman said "When you gonna fix the screen door ? ". So I grabbed a 12 pack of lubricant and tore it off the hinges. No law says you have to have a screen door.

In this case I would've at least tried plan #47, which is to simply reply "The water is fine" and leave it at that. Doesn't always work but it's a shot for an easy fix.

I don't drink their fuckin water anyway. I don't even like using it for cooking. You CAN tell them to take their water and shove it. Use bottled water for cooking and drinking and rain water for washing. Or better yet the other way around.
