Perhaps I was a bit more than optimally toungue in cheek before. It's just that I find it so utterly ridiculous.

On the other hand, I don't think such a suspension is a badge of shame. Really, I would take the notice and frame it, hang it on the wall. Like some people would a speeding ticket over like 120MPH. There are people like that. Well maybe I know different people or something.

I could see at college admissions "I see you were suspended once.......". After the details emerged I'd be tempted to let the kid in. Hell maybe even steer him to the "good" frat. I'd get a laugh out of it, although maybe the world is too full of fuddyduddies for that. Probably ask him "What, your car broke down ? Lost your bus pass ? Flat tire ?". What is this the sequel to "Mary Had A Little Lamb" ?

I know it's bad, but think if this would've happened in Singapore for example, where you could get thrown in jail for spitting on the sidewalk. Pricks over there don't even provide public spitoons I bet.

Welcome to Earth, third rock from the sun. Brought to you by the people who invented pay toilets.

Looks like a fairly decent spangen helm but where is the armor and barding?

I'm more accustomed to schools inviting SCA members to show up in armor for history classes and equestrians invited to be part of pep rallies and halftime shows at football games.

If someone had done that while I was in high school the principal would be more likely to be saying, "Boys, good stunt, but I'd better not find any road apples on campus or you'll be cleaning em up after school!"

The key part of your answer being the word  INVITED.

When they came up with the idea the school should have been called to arrange this.  Not just showing up and going "surprise".

fl, I really do agree, but I think things have gone too far. A suspension ? Permanent records that are supposedly a banner of shame ? Like a bill of attainder ?
