What is the craziest thing you have actually seen in person???

Once when I was a little kid, my mom was in the store and I was outside in the car. Two Mexican women got into a cat fight right in front of me pulling each others hair out.

Another time as an adult I witnessed some young mexican chick break another woman's window and walked into the house for just a second to see if she was there to kick her ass. Luckily she wasn't, because that chick may have used that broken glass on her.

But the funniest thing I've seen in person, is during an icy day at college. You know those huge old fashioned college buildings with about a 100 feet of stairs like capital buildings have. You know the ones. The ones we could afford before liberal policies took over our economy. Well I saw this chick slip on the top stair, and slide down the entire flight of stairs on her ass. She never dropped a book, but I"ll bet her ass was sore the next day.

I almost saw a car accident too. This chick had just passed me at a high rate of speed on the interstate, and she was passing an 18 wheeler when he decided he needed to pass someone else and didn't see her. She ran off the road and was fish tailing all over the median till she came to rest about 4 feet inside the opposing traffic lane. I was looking in my rear view mirror, and she just sat there for about 30 seconds realizing she had just crapped her pants. Asking "what the hell just happened."

The craziest? I watched, and listened, to a man burn to death because the rescue workers could not get close enough to remove him from his truck.

Everything else rather pales in comparison.

When I worked construction, A friend fell off a 120' tower and landed 6' from me. His dead turned toward me and I literally saw the lights turn off.

Okay, on to the lighter side...

One time in college a friend of mine and I were driving through suburbia hell--you know, where all the housing developments have goofy names like Nautical Hills posted in some fancy script on a stone or brick gate with lights trained on the script. As we passed by this one development, there were three young men with their pants around their knees, dancing for anyone driving by. They weren't mooning. They were shakin' that ass!

We were laughing so hard until a rabbit darted in front of the car! Amazingly enough, we heard it ka-thunk, ka-thunk, ka-thunk against the under carriage, and when we turned around to look, there went a bunny, hopping off to join the bare assed suburbia dancers!

I was going to say nearly the same thing. I was at a stock car race helping a friend and his car flipped over a wall and burst into flames rescue works couldn't reach his car and for 27 minutes all we did was watch it burn. I was on the radio with him and I was talking to him for 6 minutes before it went silent.

I've had a number of car crashes happen right in front of me. The most spectacular was on Interstate 10, west of Palm Springs when one of those big Lincoln coupes went out of control at better than 100 mph, flipped, and rolled at least 10 times out into the desert.

I drove a truck for years and saw to a lot of crazy shit, but the one that sticks in my mind the most was watching a dude go down on another at a traffic light in Wooster Mass. He was on my left and the car had darkly tinted windows, but I could see down through the open sun roof.

The driver had his head back and eyes closed. I honked my horn, and he opened his eyes, and saw me laughing my ass off. He quickly started tapping his Amore on the head to get him to stop.

I was going into my usual hangout a bar/dance place that was popular when disco was hot. As I am getting out of my car a big white limo pulls up and lets out the passenger. The man was the body guard of the club's owner and was an impressive site. He was tall, well muscled and dressed in a white suit with a nice red shirt and black tie. He started to cross the street to enter the club door, but as he crossed a car shot out from down the road a bit and hit him. He flew a bit and landed on the curb by the club door, as the car continued on in a hurry.

And he got up! He dusted himself off, ran his fingers through his hair, looked over at me and said "Am I cool? Do I look ok?" And then walked into the club as if the only thing that mattered was how he looked.

Last night coming back from a birthday party, my friend and I had to wait at a light downtown for ten minutes while 150+ people were fighting in the middle of the street for no apparent reason. When the police showed up, maybe 50 women in super-tight short dresses and stilettos tried to run uphill...
One of those 'you shoulda seen it!!!!' moments.

I was driving in one of the suburban towns close to my city, it was a really populated area. All of a sudden, I saw 3 people bolt out of their house and run into their neighbour's yard. Then this huge bear came galloping out through the open front door of their house, ran across the street in front of my car, and disappeared into the woods.  I looked at the homeowners, I must have had the same shocked look as they did, because one of them just nodded his head, as in; "Did you see that too?" Yup, I saw it. All the way home I was wondering how the thing got into their house. I bet they were too.

Reminds me of the movie "Jeremiah Johnson". Was there an old geezer yelling "SKIN em Pilgrim" running around the house?

Not that I saw, might have happened before they ran outside, though!

I was going to say the craziest thing was back when a bear came into town, wandered around downtown and then treed himself at the police station. All of whom were terrified by the animal and cowered bravely inside the station until the local forest ranger showed up with a trank gun.

But I think running through the house beats it!

I hope this does not sound racists but the facts are facts…and it is crazy.

I meet a friend in the Corps in N.Carolina that the grew up in a town called Wellston Mo. This is just outside St. Louis and just a few miles from where I lived so we became friends.

He was a slight soft spoken man with soft features about 175 with white freckled skin and a baby face but he was a good Marine. One 48 hour pass we decided to drive back to Missouri and see his old neighborhood then spend a day at my home in Kirkwood before heading back.

It was a hard drive from Camp Lejeune to St Louis and we were tired when we arrived in his old hangouts. He said “hey Butch lets have a beer before we head to your house” and headed for a hole in the wall bar. It had changed over the years and there were no white faces around.

I said “ hey man this is not a good place for two white boys to be“, That may sound racists but it is and was the truth. He said” Just one beer no problems we’ll just drink it down and head to your house”.

As we walked in the place was crowded but fell quiet as all eyes were on us as we headed to the bar. The bartender gave us the evil eye and said I don’t want any trouble boys. We said just a beer and we were gone so he served us and said drink and get out.

Next to the bar was a table of at least 8 guys staring at us like we were from the moon. The biggest got up and walked to the bar and stood by my friend, Gary, and said” Hey how about buying us a beer”. Gary asked the bartender to set them up, he did with another hard look. I said “Gary lets get the hell out of here”

I drank mine down fast but Gary sipped his then asked the bartender for one more beer for me and him. I didn’t think he would but he did and set two full bottles on the bar in front of us... Just then the same guy got up with his friends laughing and hooting and came over to Gary and said” Where is our beers”. Gary said sorry he did not have enough money.

The guy said” I think your lying white boy and you’d better get some money from your friend or we’ll kick your ass” or close to that… Remember this was 1966 and there was a lot of racial tension in St Louis.

This is when my soft spoken friend grabbed his bottle of beer by the neck and broke it across the guys jaw dropping him like a sack of potatoes and in the same motion slashed the closest guy at the table across his face causing blood to fly on his friends and the table.

Everyone was stunned including me… they though he was crazy and I agreed… they all just stood frozen.

The bartender said get out before I call the cops so he walked out and at the door threw the broken bottle back at the bar.

We ran to our car and headed to Kirkwood… he was laughing like a mad man all the way home. Needless to say I thought of him much differently after that. You just can’t judge someone by their looks.

Butch
