I know that many posters here are friends of cats. I recently lost the most wonderful, beautiful cat I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in my life. I've lived with and loved many cats, but this one...I just can't say how special the connection was. He was loved. He will be missed. I'm trying to attach a picture and think I've been successful, but just in case, he was a maginificent long haired white cat with one blue and one yellowish green eye. I liked to call him David Bowie on occasion

I'm sorry for your loss.

Peaceful, I'm very sorry for the loss of your furbaby. I'm on the verge of losing one of mine, and it is never easy when they cross the rainbow bridge.

My solution is always to mourn for a bit, then put the intention out to the Universe for another sweet special furbaby to enter your life.

Unfortunately, I think it works too well sometimes. I asked for one and I got 6! But I like to think that because of me, there are 6 less feral cats here in my town.

Hugs to you, and here's to the memory of Henry the Cat.

Thank you both for your expression of sympathy. I see there was a problem uploading Henry's photo, at least on my computer. That's okay, though. Just imagine the best cat ever! MistressRosalyn, I am thinking about you and your kitty.

So sorry to read of your loss.  I have a long haired white cat with one blue eye and one yellowish brown eye.  His name is Viktor.  So I have a good idea of how beautiful your Henry was.  And like Henry, he is incredibly special.  Maybe they're connected somehow.

My best to you...

Dear OP: I am a cat lover, and lifelong servant of the Goddess Bast and all Her children. I have attended more births, deaths, rescues, and everything in between concerning this very special species than I could count if I were offered a lottery jackpot. Every single one of them has been special to me.
From the bottom of my heart, I grieve with you for the loss of your Henry. If the picture will not load here on the boards, consider loading one onto your profile (like I did last year when I lost one of mine. remember the size limit on photos, and that it has to be a JPG, I think. if you need help reformatting it, I would be happy to help. pls let me know).
Blessings to you.

so sorry for your loss. i may have to make a very painful decision for my kitty precious. i'm hoping for the best, but telling myself not to be surprized with the worst. hug all your critters folks, and tell them you love them. you never know when they might leave you. their lives are much too short.

precious passed away peacefully at the vet's office this afternoon. she had an aggressive, fast growing cancer in her jaw and there was really nothing that could be done but to end her suffering. i was with her to the end, petting her and looking into her eyes, telling her i loved her. she was never a very cuddly cat, never liked to be held, but she sat on my computer desk and let me pet her now and then. i promised her i'd see her again at the bridge. going to hug the critters i still can. love and hugs to all.

I am so sorry for your loss, Bored. It's so terribly devastating to lose one who trusts and loves you for who you are, I know.

Oh Bored, I'm so sorry for your loss.  At least she went peacefully, and knowing she was loved by you.  My heart goes out to you.  {{{{{hugs}}}}}

CynthiaWVirginia -> RE: Henry the Cat (10/21/2010 3:48:51 PM)

peacefulplace and Bored, sorry to hear that each of you had a kitty pass away.

Two Easters ago, my siamese decided to sunbathe in the road and told the cars to just wait until she was finished...because someone hit her and she passed away instantly.  I buried her in my yard and planted a cherry tree...so the birds she loved would flutter over her resting place and cherry blossoms could fall down on the grass.

I wish I had taken a picture of her, but she was only around 6 years old and I thought she would live another ten or fifteen.  They are always gone too soon, aren't they...
