As self indulgent as I am, I think Halloween is for the kids.  I live in a neighborhood on a lake so I'll stay home on Samhain to scare the little ones and pass out candy.

I haven't made a decoration plan yet but will start searching for the great pumpkin around the 21st.  I like to go get a bales of hay, corn stalks, several regular sized pumpkins and fake headstones.  I also like to get one HUGE pumpkin and make a centerpiece in the yard.  I use the Atlantic giant squash, see pic.

I haven't done Halloween in our new house before so we will just have to wing it.   I may even stick a TV in the window showing monster movies.  When I am not busy paying homage to "All Saint's" or performing pagan rituals to a plethora of Celtic gods, I will remain home and pass out candy from what will be a nicely decorated house.

Whoa Sadist, that's a HUGE pumpkin, did you grow that?

We are going to "toiletpaper" our tree in the front yard with white crepe paper.  I love to leave long strings of it dangling to blow in the breeze.  I hang ghosts and stuff from it too.

I will put a Halloween table cloth on our ouside table, junk it up with noisy Halloween stuff like dancing skeletons, and have cauldrons with candy and others with Halloween erasers and Halloween suckers from Sams that looked really cool.  I have a big Hogwarts type spell book that I open up and that's where I store the full sized candy bars.  This year it will be Hersheys plain and with almonds, Kit Kat, and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups.

I skipped dressing up last year and have meant to sew something different but I had an attack of the lazies.  ;)  My son dresses up like a Hogwarts kid, complete with ultra cool homemade wand (I have one too, it's encrusted with purple "jewels").  I don't know if I will dress as a clown, a cartoon type witch with neon hair, or just be a Hogwarts professor with my wand nearby.

I have things that stick into my lawn to hold lanterns...mine are little cauldrons and witch hats, and I have a lit candle inside each one.

I'm going to freeze my butt off, lol, then when it's over we will watch Halloween movies.  I will have started my Atkins diet and won't touch the leftover candy bars...my son will gulp them down in one day if I don't hide them and dole them out, lol.  I buy 40 (when I first moved her I bought 60), and we usually get around 16 kids but one year we had thirtysomething.

Last year we didn't carve a jack-o-lantern, but I called my son over to look at the drunken pumpkins pic...and he is dying to do that vomit one from now on.

Hallow what?

It has very little following in Aus, I usually discourage my kids from going trick or treating because a lot of Aussies dont do it and are sometimes offended and get snarky.

I usually light a huge bonfire and roast marshmallows with the kids though and then we retire to watch Simpsons re runs and that's it!

I do however keep a bowl of mini mars bars, Snickers and M & M's handy just in case.

YOU TOO ? I have to work, which means I am going to have a BLAST ! And I just found out today, we can DRESS up for Sat and Sun.

So I am going to take my old Puppet type thing (Quala Bear) to work in an Uniform, like I use to wear, and I will be the Animal Trainer in my old Scout Master Uniform. I keep telling my Puppet (Bert), I have to stick  my hand up his butt, under Doctor's Orders.

Now for "SUNDAY", I am going to blow a lot of minds. I work in a Casino, and usually taking care of rest rooms. I can't wait to see the men's faces, as I come walking out, or in, dressed as a Catholic School Girl. It will be almost as much fun, as I did the French Maid, or the Britney Spores costumes.

I do plan on getting some photos, and post then on FLICKR, with the rest of my Halloween Costumes over the years.

Now all I need is a Domme dressed as a Nun, to use a Ruler on my hand. If some female at work is dressed as a Mother Superior, I would even go over her knee, and she can pull my Jumper up, and spank my Tights/Panties covered Bunns.

I even made a SCHOOL PIN. The Cross is "Crossed Rulers", sticking out of a Boat, with a Hole in it.......HOLY BOAT CATHOLIC SCHOOL !  Get it? Holy Boat? Like Batman.  HA HA HA

Waiting with anticipation for Sunday, sub BalletBob

Halloween is my birthday so you would think I would have a ton of cool stuff planned but I don't. I was hoping for a night in a nice rough session with my sub but that isn't happening so I will probably just watch some cartoons on the tv bum around the interwebs and pass out candy.

I love halloween to the point where I celebrate it all year round. The time of year where macabre ramblings of prose are perfectly normal.

Sadly I do not think I have a costume this year. I could be my self but that would be WAY to creepy..... and scary. Mwahahaha maybe I can get rid of that trickster spirit this year. Flush the sucker right put and banish it.

I don't really follow any sort of ritual or set methodical approximations of movement.

I create something before midnight and create something after midnight infusing new techniques/modes of thinking/new perspectives and essentially.... change.

I never metamorph I did not like.

Normally I'm at a regatta with a costume party, but my crew bailed so I'll probably stay home and pass out candy to nonexistent children. We won the competition once as a "really bad gybe"- I took a broken boom and set it up so it looked like it had speared the three of us. Lots of blood and makeup- very gooky. This is pre digital camera days, so I don't have a pic to post (besides, not polite to the other folks in the shot.)

Which reminds me- better go buy some candy.

Sam

I have plans to take my daughter out for our ritual birthday dinner (hers, not mine) and that's it. I'm not into the Halloween spirit this year and plan no Halloween activities at my home.

As I'll be working a 12 hour shift on Samhain, I'll just celebrate a dumb feast and ignore the rest of the festivities.

Hoping the old so-called scary movies are on some channel. We live to far off the road to have trick-or-treaters, so no giving out candy. I know no one around here, so going out is not an option. Home it is, either watching tv, reading, or on the site surfing the boards. Fun wow!

Picking up the teen at 9 when curfew is. I wait in front of the local deli so I can get something hot to drink, and then when they show up escorted by a cop for being out past curfew I sign for them metaphorically. And yes, if it's 5 after, the cops will want to know where their parents are and will walk them to us.

Beyond that, going to see the pumpkin contest at the local bakery and have some hot cider while admiring the amazing carvings.

I just realised that its a long weekend because of  The Melbourne Cup on Tuesday and most families will be away for the weekend.

And with Sunday being the 31st I think it will be a quiet one with every bugger camping.

More lollies for me I guess

SirPumpy,
The shops are working hard to change things. Too much money invovled, soon it'll be big here, with no one having a clue what it's all about except for the food. Kind of like christmas and easter.

Going to a  Raider game with the man.  He doesn't get much in the way of trick or treaters so we'll probably just hang out watching movies after the game - - taking girlchild to hang with her friends and then picking her up when she's ready.
