if you are inked...  what motivated you to get it?

Would you remove it?

Well one is my Tinker Bell tattoo.  In it she's in the normal bratty tink position but is wearing a collar.  The reason was fairly simple.  1) I always liked the nuances of her character as they were presented -- bratty, helpful, strong yet wanting to feel safe under the protection of someone else. 2) I have kids and I'm around them, other kids and other parents so putting a collar on Tinker Bell is something that is unoffensive to most. 3) Those that do notice collars always ask about it and yes I'm glad to answer.  The tattoo is pretty much my trademark (that guy with the Tinker Bell tattoo) so I'm glad I have it.  I do end up getting tons of Tinker Bell related presents at birthdays and such.

Another is cherries on a stem where the cherries are actually treskillions and there are handcuffs around the stems.  This one isn't as visible as tink is.  I think it's meaning is pretty clear to most of us and Yes I like it.

The cherries morph into a scanned image of my heart with bandages over a few arteries.  That's the newest.  I got it after my recent heart attack as a sort of celebration for not dying.  The bandages are where my stints were placed.

There is also one that I got with my very best friend.  We have the same one in the same place.  We got it years ago and it's sort of a physical symbol of our close connection.

Although I can clearly see the beauty of your tattoo's in my minds eye, I think Greedy failed to mention
in this soon to be very read thread was that photo's were mandatory!
My smile is in celebration of your not dying. Thank you for sharing.

When I was 21 I met a woman who was called "Sandy the Billboard". She had a huge number of tattoos & her goal was to ink every square inch of her body. You have to understand that this was in the mid-60's & tattoos were very uncommon except on sailors. I had never met another woman with any tattoos. I was so enthralled by the use of her body as a canvas that I decided I wanted tattoos also. Fortunately, I realized that who I was at 21 was not necessarily who I would be at 30 or 40 or 50 & that I might not be so thrilled later in life with having body art.

When I was 43, I realized that I still wanted tattoos as badly as I had at 21 so I got my first. I had been collecting flamingos for a number of years, so naturally my first tat was a flamingo. With red Lolita sunglasses on.

In the 90's, I went to Maui & saw a tattoo shop in Lahaina & decided to get my next one there. It's a Hibiscus vine with a butterfly flying toward it. The vine curling across & down the back of my left shoulder had been a dream for awhile. The Hibiscus was in honor of my first visit to Hawai'i. The butterfly was an addition of the artist.

My third is on the back of my neck & is my former Owner's mark. I designed it with the assistance of an artist in Ogden, UT where my truck was parked for a day. While I love that tattoo as much as the others, I know that I will have to have it modified. I am currently working on a spider design because I have loved spiders since I was a small child. And I've always wanted a benevolent spider tat.

Not exactly Linea the Billboard. Yet.

I have six Chinese characters down the middle of my back.  It reads "Only God can judge me" and I got it because it gave me confidence to walk this path of life.  I don't think I'll ever remove it, unless it's related to my health or something.

Nice try, poise, but you didn't get Me.  LOL.  My tattoo is already visible on the profile pic.  It is of three hearts on My left breast.  One pink, one purple, and one blue.  I had got it to mark a three year celebration.  My other half has My name on his chest, surrounded by the same color hearts.

B has a couple tattoos...  There's an illustrated Japanese fairy tale on his left side from below his knee to halfway up his ribcage, a dragon sleeve on his left arm, a Japanese woman with cranes and roses and a flute on his right, and a large biomechanical piece on his back. He's very tattooed, and both sleeves are new since we've been dating. He has a similar idea about being a human canvas and knows some amazing artists who are more than willing to use the space. It's beautiful ink. His first tattoos were a tribal design on each arm, which were rather cliche and he grew to hate - but he had them covered and integrated into sleeves rather than have them removed. I have no tattoos and no plans to get one anytime soon, but I love how he looks.

I want to show him off...how do I add a pic?

I proudly display many tattoo's placed on my body by my Master...each one has a significant symbolism to Him and to me and to the long term relationship we share and the milestones we worked together to experience and embrace. I would never think of having a single tattoo removed, even if Master were to release me today.

I got my one and only tattoo after my relationship ended.  I waited about 8 months to make the decision permanant and created the design myself.  In the center of my back between the shoulder blades I have a tribal patch of thorns surrounding a more traditional broken heart.  I wanted it on my back so I could see it now and again but not be constantly reminded.

I had a friend who was born in China. He said that you would be amazed at how many of those "chinese character" tats say something like "gullible white boy" or are just gibberish.

I have a dragon tat covering most of my lower back. I can be fiercely protective when needed. (And I happen to think dragons are way cool.)

I have a stylized lizard on my right hip and I like it...no need to remove it. It doesn't mean a thing except that I wanted a tattoo and I like lizards and it's related to my name. I'd do more but I'm just lazy and don't put in the effort to figure out what I want. My guy and I toss around the idea every now and then of something we'll both get in a non-visible area. I do think we will do that eventually - he wants us to pass our 2 year anniversary in Feb first.

*Edited to add a sentence.

2 tatoos...one a dragon that encircles my breast.  I was a ren faire brat, so the "girls" were often exposed on weekends, add my love for dragons, it just seemed the thing to do.  Remove it?  Hardly!

The second, was put on my thigh when I moved in with my now husband, then master.  Motivation?  He wanted it.  Remove it?  Only if I outlive him.
