Sending good thoughts to Bita, and asking others to do the same.
I've had the good fortune of getting together with her and "Himself" while she's been here in California, but yesterday she let me know her daughter and three grandsons were in a serious car accident. Apparently a 16 year old, driving with only a permit and no one else in the car, plowed into them while rushing through a left turn. Both SUVs were totaled and everyone went to the hospital.
Thank heavens there were no critical injuries, but one of the boys spent the night in the hospital for a CT scan and observation due to a seat belt injury. Lots of huge bruises and deep cuts, and her daughter can barely move and will be off work for at least a week. The baby seems traumatized, as he'll be fine one minute and screaming the next, needing someone to hold and soothe him.
Bita sent me a picture of the crumpled and totaled car her family was in, and is horrified to think she could have lost her family in an instant. How utterly terrifying.
So she's stressed beyond belief while staying with her daughter to take care of her and the boys. I'm sure she could use, and would appreciate, any thoughts, prayers, or healing energy sent their way. I'll be in touch with her and can relay any messages anyone wants to send.
She is my dear friend, her daughter is a spitfire who will definitely get through this, and those boys are precious.
