Perhaps check your security software and router isn't blocking their server and required ports. If you are talking about the chat then you have to check port 1863. Hotmail most likely uses HTTPs and that also needs port number 443 as opposed to non secure HTTP which is port 80.

my hotmail works too well - judging by the amount of spam I get. But there are some places (like here) that I will not give out my personal email to. They don't need to know who I am.

Am I one of the very few who uses hotmail as my regular email and doesn't get spammed to death? Oopsie, maybe I shouldn't have said anything, i mighta jinxed me!! [:)]

Just finished checking hotmail email with no problems. rarely have problems with spam as I have the filters set at highest level so all spam goes to junk which I simply delete.

If web based email glitches, the first thing you shoul do is flush your cache and delete your cookies. Often the poor java programming for hotmail and yahoo mail won't update cached items or cookies and then you can't access when you try to go back in. Gmail is the only web based email I've found that works reliably. Stefan

Fixed. My account had been hijacked and had been used to send spam from, so MS locked it and required me to give them my cellphone, then they texted me an additional code to reactivate.

Seems to be going around Steven, Tigger's computer was breached about 2 wks ago and all his social network sites were affected, hotmail, CM, yahoo and a few others. It's just been a nightmare.
