Termyn8or -> Time flies (9/8/2010 7:37:11 PM)

Wow. At the grocery today we ran into someone. At first I thought it was a buddy we haven't seen for many years. I was thinking to myself he has aged well considering he has lived the high life for..... forever. Then I find out this is his SON ! He remembers from the time his age was in the single digits.

Now if that isn't tripped out enough, the phone rings and it IS someone I haven't seen in 20 years. Naturally I figured guy number one got on the phone and eventually my phone number got there.

Nope, it came from a totally different source.

The question is - Am I allowed to feel old now ?

And does the world seem to get smaller for everyone at a certain point in life ? Maybe it's something with the moon or something, I have no idea, but this blast from the past is uncanny.

Now the second dude is coming over tomorrow and he used to be a concert going crazoid just like the rest of us. My roomie and I both have known him for a long time, and in between the bullshitting and whatever there will be some time for a few tunes. I did warn him though that we can bring the cops faster with audio than anyone dialing 911. Perhaps I should've left it as a surprise, but he might want to bring earplugs to avoid hearing damage. (at our age)

Just a tripped out day, anything like that happrn to anyone elee lately ?

Since I moved to AR from WV, I don't ever really run into people that I actually know. However, facebook has really made me feel my age. I graduated from high school 20 years ago and have never had children. When I see old friends (my age) and they're posting photos of their kids at prom and/or going off to college, it really hits me that I'm pushing 40. It's like "How can I have stayed so young and you have grown kids?"[8D] Then, of course, just attending the 20th yr. reunion reinforced it as well. It's really unsettling for me to think that, had I chosen to have children, they could be adults by now. I still feel like I'm in my twenties. How can this be????? So, yeah, Termyn8or, I feel ya, man[;)]

i had the experience of running into somene i went to jr and sr high school with. i recognized her but was shocked at how freaking old she looked. she is six months younger than me, but looks about ten years older. i connected with some old friends on facebook and was amazed at how old we all look. the mind plays interesting tricks on us all; we think of old friends as we knew them, then time catches up and kicks us in the ass. funny how that works.

I bet you are a trip in the grocery store.

I would like to see that.

How old IS old?

Feel whatever you want.   Consider the wisdom that comes with age.

The only thing I like about Facebook is that all the girls from high school who are writing me after all these years all look so much older than I do and they are all jealous.

Otherwise it is a bore.

Actually I could figure them out.   I could tell when you were normal  mode- or danger mode.

I hope you are sitting down for this one.   I went to the DR.  (eye)   They had year books in the waiting room.  (small town)

Guess what- ALL the pics were in color!  All of them.

I think out yearbook had black and white and maybe 12 pages of color.  Also- I seen they let kids where t-shirts with writing on them.  We never would have done that one picture day!!!

BoredAsHell -> RE: Time flies (9/9/2010 9:27:43 AM)

old is about 90 i say. as for "how old we all look" we all seem to look like i remember our parents, lol, not like how i remember us when we all hung out together.

as for the grocery store, since i relocated i don't know anyone locally. i'm just another middle aged mom of teenagers getting that shell-shocked look at the registers just like every other mom. damn, teenaged boys can eat!

Nope, moving 1600 miles away from where I grew up sort of does that though.  I do however run into people I haven't seen around here all of the time.  I hate it.  I like things planned.  I just don't like running into people spontaneously and ruining my plans for my day.

people around here are starting to learn that as well about me.

pahunkboy -> RE: Time flies (9/9/2010 9:37:17 AM)

kids today are not too aware of how one WILL age profusely.   Unless you die.

I always avoid year books otherwise the government knows what you look like.

Arpig -> RE: Time flies (9/9/2010 8:44:39 PM)

I'm all too aware.
How do I avoid it?
