My husband and I just got a set of vaccuum cups. While from my perspective it hurts, it is not an awful pain, much less than the angry dislocation in my foot, for example, or cramps, and interestingly it seems to break up the lumps in the muscles that go with fibromyalgia. So I am seeing it as being much more a therapy tool than a BDSM tool right now.

I use baby oil..it makes the cups slide easier for the deep tissue massage. To get the red rings, just hold tight and pull upward. Yes it CAN hurt but it depends on how much you want it to hurt as to how hard you want to pull up on the cup.

I've not tried the vaccume cups. I would think that there is less control with the suction ones.
