SomethingCatchy -> Pets and kink (8/26/2010 7:25:51 PM)

The real kind of pet, with four legs, fur, and a cold wet nose (preferably). Just a note - This has nothing to do with illegal activities and those that abuse animals should be punished by cutting off body parts.

I've recently received an email asking if I'd keep him as a human pet, to play with my real dogs. Playing, fetch, sleeping and eating with them, allowing the natural pecking order to happen and him accept his 'place' within the canine family.
I personally couldn't do it, just because my dogs have very structured lives and are not allowed to be on the same level as humans for their own mental well being. Both are prone to fear and aggression if humans start to confuse them about their proper place in the family unit.

What about you? Threads keep popping up about human pets, but how do these people fit in with the real pets of the household?

MindOnFire -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 1:15:37 AM)

There was this movie- "The Pet"- a girl there was living the life of a dog.
It was a lousy movie, but it had the concept of what you are talking about-it didn't end up good.
Some people that I know are very into it, I've even heard of litter box training. None of them does it 24/7 though, the truth is that Life always breaks in and what we want is not always what we get.
Living as a pet 24/7 might get boring, really boring-but that's just my own opinion.

LaTigresse -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 3:59:08 AM)

I have three dogs now. My dogs have ALWAYS been trained/raised with the concept that the family humans are higher on the pecking order than the dogs.

I have no problem with a girl believing my animals are more important than she is. In the right circumstances I can imagine treating her, or telling her, she is 'less' than my furry babies. But as a responsible dog owner/leader I would not allow her to interact with the dogs in a submissive manner.

I have a 5 month old GSD puppy that is already a very lean 54#. Her blood lines are formidable. Many of her relatives have been trained as personal protection dogs. She is an extremely intelligent and self confident dog that requires a very defined power structure. I am not going to confuse her and potentially place other humans at risk just to get some s-types humiliation rocks off.

I wanted to add, I also have never done any 'play' around my pets. The dogs especially. It sends too many mixed signals and creates a lot of problems.

I have known Nala's daddy since my sister got him as a puppy 2+ years ago. He is the most gorgeous, sweetest, trustworthy dog I know. An angel with small children. And he is HUGE. Yet, if you get a group of kids playing, and rough housing, he will constantly be whining and shoving himself in between kids that are tussling. It worries and upsets him. And if an adult tries to wrestle with a child, someone had better get a hold of him or remove him from the area. He gets very upset and it would be easy to imagine him taking on an adult that he didn't know and trust, that was just playing with someone he saw as vulnerable and weaker. It is instinctual to him.

DesFIP -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 6:04:11 AM)

My dog is incapable of consenting to this, or understanding it, and therefore it is nonconsensual. Since I hold the ability to give informed consent of paramount importance in wiitwd, I wouldn't give this guy the time of day.

I do wonder though how he would like a bowl of dry kibble for dinner.

SomethingCatchy -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 8:38:43 AM)

Dry kibble isn't that bad.... My dogs eat a brand that uses venison and bison as their main sources of meat. Just smelling it makes me wish I had the nerve to crunch a few. It smells delish! Some of the cheaper, grocery store brands, I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

That reminds me that someone contacted me (not the same guy) and was interested in being my dog. He even wanted me to feed him dog treats and dog food in a dog kennel. He was willing to provide all of it. I had a lot of fun looking online at the human grade dog treats and food out there. Some of them looked yummy. Apple crunches, dehydrated sweet potato and duck wraps, home cooked diets. I can't remember the last time I had duck.

Well, normally in the morning I wake up with a horrible kink in my neck.

But the after brunch stoning in the garden by my Dominants generally works that right out.

My lower back on the other han................excuse me............it's about what?

Ohhhhhhhhh!

Never mind.

Animal play with humans only, yes. Confusing the animals, NO WAY.

Litter box training? LITTER BOX TRAINING?????

I have cleaned up after guinea pigs. I have mucked out stalls. I have cleaned up after many, many kinds of animals. There is NO FUCKING WAY that I would clean up after a human's litterbox event. [:'(][:'(][:'(]

Jasmineinbloom -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 8:56:11 AM)

I have to agree with other posters that this scenario is placing actual pets into kink dynamics. I believe that it would tremendously upset a dog to witness a human interacting in it's space as an animal. Leading a human "pet" around on a leash and playing around in the home, or yard not in the presence of an animal pet is fine, fun and dandy. Animal pets should be protected emotionally and not set up to be confused or participate in human fantasy.

peppermint -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 9:32:33 AM)

Having any pet is work. Dogs need to be let out, exercised, fed, watered, taken to the vets, socialized, trained, brushed, washed, etc. With cats you have a litter box to attend and play time. Why would I want a human that needs to be tended like a dog or cat? It would just mean more work for me while human puppy sits on ass watching. I'd get to go to work all day while human cat gets to bask in the sun coming through the window. I'd get to cook my dinner while human puppy curls up on the fireplace rug and watches. What does the owner of one of these human pets get out of it except work?

Seems to me, the ancient concept of slaves as chattel and pets as animals is similar. Property.

I tried to look up the movie but ended up with Polyethylene terephthalate. :(

Tell us more about that movie!

pompeii -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 10:04:30 AM)

Nevermind. Removed "wikipedia" from the search and found it.

Looks like the pet and the slave market are interrelated after all ...

I'm with LH

If my mom can teach our cats to use the toilet, so can a human pet. GEEZ

tazzygirl -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 10:37:16 AM)

This has been a complaint of many hotels when the furries hit town. Urinating in boxes, or just the corners of the rooms. Health hazard for the housemaids for sure. Just plain nasty.

akisha -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 10:40:14 AM)

I would be charging some heavy damages on peoples CC's and they would not be allowed to stay again if it was my hotel. too gross

usemetopleaseyou -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 11:18:10 AM)

I would go whereever my mistress told me to.

You are an incredibly smart person. This is my feelings on the topic to the T. I want a submissive/slave to alleviate the day to day grind of life, not add more work onto my already busy schedule. I like my dogs, but damn if I didn't wish they could scoop their own poop or fix their own dinners.

LaTigresse -> RE: Pets and kink (8/27/2010 1:07:04 PM)

If I didn't have 3 acres for my three dogs, and if I didn't feed a food that disintegrates soon after it is shit out.........I would definitely not have three dogs, two of which are not exactly small.

Dry kibble isn't half bad, at least the brands I've tried.

No idea about wet kibble.

Health,
al-Aswad.
