Old homo works.
Cougars are not always predatory animals.  When a younger guy is obviously attracted to and pursues an older woman, how can she be considered the predator?

Exactly. I never once pursued them; they always pursue me. It is crazy and just another way to milk the media term. I prefer to milk other things.

This was part of my issue with the term. I have never pursued a younger man in my life, and I have been called a cougar several times. I am beginning to think it is enough to just be a single woman over 40

Honestly, yes it is. These days, to have any sexuality after 40 earns you the label.

Some people toss this around as a compliment, too. I don't see why you wouldn't take it as one. I don't like to use 'loaded' words personally.

I hate the title "cougar" and think its funny women who like to date younger men are given such a predatory name. Why not just call us Lilith?

Because Lilith is a mythological character no one can ever live up to. Not to mention she is either a goddess, a demon or a chicken sand witch.

I do like cars - as toys or something haul groceries with. Bicycles are incredibly inconvenient. I'm content with walking whenever possible.

Sadly for most of you guys, it's near impossible to do anything without driving in the US. Slavery to traffic *shudder* - best reason to move to Europe, in my opinion.

The only old elderly man I would ever consider getting with is someone who is on this board.

I say this because he is so cute in his icon.

Howya doin Shore?

HA!

I am coming to coal country at some point with the elf to have a yeungling with you...you older homo.

The first time I was called that term I was 37, and a 36 year old called me that... and NO, I did not take it as a compliment. He was one of these men that thinks women get old and men get distinguished, so he THOUGHT he was complimenting me...

I never say anything to people who call me that other than to set them straight as to the fact I am not into younger men. But I do have thoughts on the term, which i think is inappropriate to call someone something like that just because of their age

Hunker.....I'm not up on my homo slang. Is there a term for a 40+ gay male that blows 20 something gay males? (other than "old homo")

One thing I'm noticing more and more: journalists can't write, and headlines rarely summarize accurately the content of the article they're headlining. The headline of this story is: "New Study Claims 'Cougars' Do Not Exist." That's not what the study claims at all.

Yeah, there is an article about abandoned old people that seriously sucks ass in the whole entire accuracy-in-reporting thing. I should go into journalism... what is out there just really bites

I'm not sure that it isn't because they can't write - i think its because they can't comprehend!   Then they make up their own story........................   for instance, they didn't mention chickenhawks once - and i love birds lol.

I used to like the notion of cougars. Now a cougar would have to be on oxygen.

Would it be fun bangin a broad in an oxygen tent? Maybe it would be like hangin out in an oxygen bar only with some dried out, wide open and grey haired snatch.

I would toss her a lit cigarette when I am done with her.

Not to mention the difficulty in creating the ambuiguity I was going for.

I should have typed "chicken sand witch".

Now it just looks lame. This annoys me.

More distinguished, but less horny.

Honestly, if we have time to think about such silly things, we have priviledged lives indeed. Heh.

Hehehe . . . . I quit driving in 1996 & have been pedestrian, bicycle, skater, & public transit gal since then . .. . . & it's wonderful. Cars are a special kind of hell that people eagerly get themselves into. The great hamster wheel of modern life. Gettin' rid of all that was one of the best things I ever did for my life . . . . . .

Like some others here have said :    I've been dating younger men for many years.   I don't "hunt" them , they willingly approach .

I don't believe this is anything new.   It's just that in this label-crazy society we have at present , it seems all behaviors need to be categorized in some way , in order to fit each of us in the proper "slot" .  Woe be to the one who will not easily fit under an already existing label  !
