A little about myself...
I am a fiftyish, Dominant male, erotic sadist, and a darn good cook...
We (my first wife and I) began 'swinging' in our teens... then, the Army and a certain 'unpleasantness' in S.E. Asia realigned my world view.
On return to the states, we settled for a bit in a mid-western city, and resumed our old ways, pretty much.
By the early 70's, we were looking for newer, better sensation. It didn't take long to find the lifestyle.. (ok, I had ALWAYS enjoyed rough sex)
We began frequenting the leather bars, learning the ins and outs, protocals and manners. It took quite a while to be accepted on the margins of that community. (Unlike on the modern wonder that is the internet, one did not become a shake and bake Dom or sub for that matter, overnight.)
Odd isn't it, when you enter the lifestyle, you seem to bump into a lot of others who share your interests...or perhaps your kink-dar becomes more finely attuned...
We did form a sort of nexus of like minded folk around us and my first full-time, live in submissive entered my house around '76... I have never looked back...
I view my Dominance and my sadistic tendancies to be as much a part of who I am as my sexual orientation...
I am an dominant by genetic makeup and upbringing, a sadist by whatever Freudian machinations and or genetic quirk lit the spark, and I am a Master, because a number of intellegent, lovely and strong willed women that I respect, say I am...
Anyway, enough rambling...
