I was there last year, but I don't think we're going to be able to do it this year.  My other half is having shoulder surgery (yes, freaking again) toward the end of the month and I don't think he'll be in good enough shape by the event.  (Damn shame, as it's really close to My birthday.)

One thing that I particularly loved last year were those dedicated folks who came in full costumes and all kinds of kink wear that you could possibly image.  Take a note of the folks who wear those amazing heels to be walking down the street.  (Not Me..... I wore flats...... lol.)  Lots of booths that give you a good idea of what kind of outreach stuff that the kink community does that nobody ever seems to talk about.  Oh, and don't miss Mr/Ms S Leather, because it's just down one of the side streets.

I'll be sure to look it up!  I will be in costume!  I LOVE costumes, so I never miss a chance to get dressed up.  I'll be wearing some thigh high black boots that lace up the front and I'll be wearing a little outfit that my gf's master is making for me!  It's going to be VERY CUTE!  It's going to be a little black leather belt that I'll wear as a top and a little black leather loin cloth thingy.  The top will look something like this, except without all the studs and the skull and crossbones.  I went into IMVU so I could make a picture of the outfit to show him since he offered to make me one!  SO COOL!  I'll show the bottoms, next.

Wife and I will be back at Folsom Fringe. The last one we attended was in '04 before we got married in '05 and then moved from CA to GA in '06. Due to closing on our house in '07 and paying taxes in '08 & '09 we couldn't make it either so we're really looking forward to getting back there. As we have a member of our "family" coordinating things I've been helping out last year and this year from the east coast, can't say no to family when they ask for help.

Depends... Classes I go for comfort... Dungeon likely my leather... FSF? Depends on the weather whether I'll go for comfort or dress in my leather, course It's been pushing close to a 100 degrees here with 45+% humidity so the weather back in SF is looking really good to me ;)

Will it be warm enough there?  I've been a little concerned about that, it will be towards the end of September, and obviously, my outfit is on the skimpy side.

I just can't see having a major fetish event in Sunnyvale. It's too suburban.

I'm sorry it doesn't meet your approval.  I'll see what I can do to fix that right away!

It's usually fine. It was close to 80 last year, and the temperatures were well into the 90s earlier in the week. Averages are usually in the 60s around that time of year, I think, and you'll be moving. Plus it feels pretty warm when you get 300,000 bodies packed into 6 blocks of city street. i wouldn't worry if I were you.

I find it to be to damned bloody hot, actually. and I run around almost completely nude, it's just socks tennis shoes and panties for me.  If I can be butt naked and to hot, I hope someone wearing clothing, albeit on the skimpy side would be warm enough, But that's me and I am a baby about the heat.

I have gone 4 times already, One time went with a dom who  I was considering to be my dom, then the year after that went with a vanilla bf, and went last year and the  year before that but I'm choosing not to go this year, there's just other stuff I want to do more.

It happens trust me. They originally were in San jose year before last, but there was trouble with the double tree hotel, and this one it was at last year was cheaper, and actually kink friendly to some degree.

You're not going out into the community to have this event, you're in the hotel.

the street fair is in Sanfransisco. They close off a bunch of city blocks to car traffic, an it's neat.

Actually getting kind of sad now that we've made the descion not to go, it really is a fun and exciting thing for me to do, but I'd rather  go with our original plans, it's cheaper in the long run too hehe.

We went the cheaper route a couple years back and went to another event a few months earlier and were disappointed. Of course we were comparing it to Folsom Fringe and when doing so the event we attended was not even in the same ball park. After having missed the past 5 years ('05-'09) and having attend 4 of the first 5 years ('01-'04) we're really looking forward to making the trip even though we're having to fly cross country to go there.

If the cost of the event is the hurdle to cross than I always recommend volunteering. I volunteered '01-'03 and then went just as a paid attendee in '04... As the event coordinator, MsTender, last year and this year is part of my family I've helped out handling the IT needs as well as helping with marketing. Trust me when I say volunteering is how I'm making the expenses of the trip workout. Our airfare alone is part of the biggest chunk and way more then our event registration fees.

Anyone who attended FF'01 (Playing in the Wild West) may have actually ran into me as I was driving the shuttle van between the host hotel and The Scenery, the local San Jose dungeon. It was my first event and I actually made quite a few contacts that year that I then got to meet up with again the following year and remembered me as the guy in the black Stetson cowboy hat driving the shuttle.

Folsom Fringe has always been in the Santa Clara area. This year will be the 11th annual Fringe event. It's been held at the Sheraton Hotel, Double Tree and the Beverly Heritage through the years I've attended and now has the same hotel that has been used last year for Fringe as well as for NWLC as I recall. Trust me when I say the lifestyle community is considerably different between Northern & Southern California. Southern California is a lot closer to here in Georgia than it is in Northern California from my experience.
