Ok, a sauna is.nice, sweating your bits off  I dont have a problem with, but I think this is going a bit tooooo far for smart people.
Graphic pics but more info at
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/07/world-sauna-championships_n_674582.html

Both of the events finalists -- Russia's Vladimir Ladyzhensky and Finland's Timo Kaukonen -- were rushed to the hospital after collapsing during the competition, in which contestants are made to endure temperatures of 230 degrees Fahrenheit (110 degrees Celsius) for as long as they can. Ladyzhensky later died.

I don't have any comments on the mental giants and their sauna escapades...

... but man, I love that avatar.

i would like to include myself as a serious contender. i can be one of the stupidest people alive. There are times when i've lost all grip on common sense. It's okay. if i was sensible and kept my head at all times, i guess i would be a more boring person for it.

Would also have to confess to being to distracted by the avatar to give much thought to the idiots in the sauna.

I nominate the entire seagoing operation of The Sea Shepherds.  Never have I seen such idiocy and poor boat/ship-handling in my freakin' life.

Best individual nomination would go to last year's (Whale Wars) "first mate", who couldn't con by compass bearing.

That show is like watching a train wreck.  How they are still alive after all that time in one of the roughest oceans on the planet with their ummmmm 'skill level' escapes me entirely.
