ladycynaptic -> Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 3:22:59 AM)

My profile is popping up as "Profile not found" - who do I contact?

dreamerdreaming -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 3:43:08 AM)

Just unhide it. Then it will be visible.

ETA:

The buttons on the left: hit "edit profile".

Then from there, see the buttons at the top of the page: hit "unhide".

It's not hidden.  I'm not a moron, lol.  It is simply listed as not found, so is my other one.

When hidden, it will come up as "profile not found".

At the time of this writing, both of these profiles read 'not found'.

You must not be twue.

Jeff

Edited to add:  Back on the Collarme side (this is the Collarchat side), if you were to edit your profile (from the buttons on the left hand side), from that next screen there are some tabs at the top.  One of them says to 'Hide profile'.  Once you clicked that, it takes you back to the front page (with ad listings), but this time on the left hand side it shows 'Edit profile (hidden)'.  You can then click on that, then click on the third tab at the top to unhide your profile.

Hope that helps.

I've tried... I tried that before I posted a few times.  So it listed as hidden when I hid it intentionally, I unhid it, it's not hidden, it was not hidden in the beginning - but the page still pops up as profile not found.  I've tried all this.  The damn thing is not "hidden".  *sigh*

edit profile -> view profile [page not found]
edit profile -> hide profile -> edit profile [hidden] -> unhide profile -> edit profile -> view profile [page not found]

ETA - twue?  is that a convolution of "true"?

cyntax -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 5:20:39 AM)

That's nice to know, dear.  [sm=axe.gif]

ETA - sometimes people post because there is an actual technical problem, not due to general ineptness.  Or maybe I somehow violated a rule I don't know about?  I don't know.  But the problem is not in my ability to understand how to navigate the website.

Mmkay... [8|]

You'd be surprised how many otherwise intelligent people are somehow clueless about the most basic stuff here on CM. Heck, even I don't know some fairly basic stuff about it. So try not to take it personally, when I'm just being my normal fluffy blue clouds of awesomeness. I'm just fabulous like that. [:)]

... Fairly regularly here, even forum regulars will seem to think that "profile not found" means the person is gone away forever, for example.

Sounds like you've just got a technical glitch, that support should be able to square away.

janigrey -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 5:54:14 AM)

@cyntax
twue = true

Its a way to mock the people that write "I'm a true dom - or true submissive" - like they know everything and they are right and everyone is wrong. Frequently these people end up writing "I am a true dominate" which really makes most of the world cringe.

So - for shits and giggles - did support unhide you from the glitch?

cyntax -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 5:56:12 AM)

Sorry, it's just really annoying.   [:'(]

I could totally see it coming.  I should have posted my arrow diagram first, LOL.  My initial problem was just that I couldn't find someone to contact with a support problem, nothing listed on the help page that I noticed as a contact for technical issues.  Maybe I'm missing something on that page... the layout of this site could use a good tightening up... but it's probably not funded enough.  Which sucks.

Meh.

cyntax -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 5:59:10 AM)

nope... both of my profiles remain "unfound".  If someone could reference me to a contact email or something for issues like these that would be awesome.   [:D]

wandersalone -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 6:08:33 AM)

on the CM side at the very bottom of the page there are some links and one is to support

hope it gets sorted [:)]

cyntax -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 6:10:52 AM)

thank you!

wandersalone -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 6:12:36 AM)

You are welcome

etFilii -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 6:14:31 AM)

If you have two profiles and are using the same email for both of them, it tends to do that.

ladycynaptic -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 3:28:57 PM)

I'm using 2 different emails... I put in a support ticket, will see what happens.

DarkSteven -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 3:44:38 PM)

Your profile is visible! YAY!

ladycynaptic -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 4:39:11 PM)

yeah, profile is back up - now I need to check my other one.

mstrjx -> RE: Since I can't find a "contact" reference in the help section... (8/6/2010 5:01:42 PM)

So what was the poop? You know, so when the next shlep comes along we can give yet one more piece of bad advice.

Jeff

Yes, you did.  Common courtesy.

dreamerdreaming did nothing but try to help you, and didn't deserve being treated in this way.

Try logging out of the site and then logging back in, where you have to type in your password.  This happened to several of us in March or April, and this is what fixed it.
