We are a new dungeon/playroom in Montreal, and we need a name! I am looking for something that sounds fun, evokes an image of technical proficiency and PLAY(!), so nothing that sounds overly spooky or gothic, I am thinking. Ideally, it should translate well to French, but just give me your good ideas if you don't know the language.

I am also thinking of taking a new Mistress name since I need something that does not show up elsewhere on the web. I have not had much of a web presence up to now, and I want to have a unique Mistress name for web searches. If you can think of one that pleases me, well... I would be pleased with you :)

Well, to maintain the French influence, how about The Surrender Room?

Since it's in Montreal why not use a French loanword. Something like Libertine or Carte Blanche.

Well since you are in Montreal how about something to strike just a little apprehension into the heart of the submissives and go with the French : "Le jeu est terminé"

The Crucible

crucible:
1.     a vessel in which substances are heated to high temperatures
2.     the hearth at the bottom of a metallurgical furnace in which the metal collects
3.     a severe trial or test

Although my first thought even before reading the thread (because I'm all vision-y like that) was 'Herbert', I see the snark answer has been torn from me before I got here. So, I'll play straight this time.

Aren't there Crucible's in other cities? I was thinking, as others, to keeping it French although certainly not mandatory, but dungeony.

Bastille.

Jeff

I like Bastille and I don't think it much matters fs a name has been used in an other city.  In Detroit they have (had) a Bastille.  They also had their own Hellfire club too.  Both did well.

La Tour Solitaire...The Solitary Tower

Back in the good old days, many (actual) dungeons in Europe used to be at the tops of towers, not below ground. And the solitary part is just for flair, it could always be shortened to La Tour ; )
