OP: Imo, there are many powerful people and organizations trying to accomplish one world government. We already have a world financial system, and they tried in Copenhagen to create a world tax and world laws. It seems closer to me than some are aware of.

The problem is uniting the masses of different cultures and religions to accept a OWG, at the current time in history, it would be impossible.

Short of genocide against the minority cultures it just could not happen.

Of course the alternative is OWG via conquest, and that can never be totally discounted.

Really? So who's up to managing that one at the moment, pray tell? You people can't even deal with occupying two third world countries at once, never mind expanding further, and the axis of evil are in even worse shape. China has the man power, but it doesn't have the money. I don't see any Alexanders or Caesars anywhere else in the current political landscape, either.

But that's all poppycock. It's not people *or* technology I fear; it's people + technology. Hitler's pride and greed was his weapon, and also his downfall; give him nuclear energy and it would have been way worse.

What, the stuff he refused point blank to investigate because it was bad jewish pseudoscience? The Reich could easily have got uranium from its holdings in Africa had it not been for that, but this may not be quite the lucky escape you see it as: the fact that they were ten years ahead of the rest of Europe and America in rocketry didn't ultimately do them any good in the long run, and it's very debatable that nuclear power would have either.

It is technology that has made a OWG even possible. It would take a very persuasive group of people to use that technology to unite the masses in a single mind for a world government to come to fruition.

While, on the other hand, the proliferation of nuclear technology continues, one world leader could conceivably start a world nuclear war, thus leaving the survivors to pick up the pieces of what is left.

..and, to then left vulnerable to a smaller-scale NWO as people in their panic and desperation could be taken over more readily.

Although, I *do* believe the Zombie Apocalypse is more likely..

With Owner59 leading the Zombies, transmorgrified by the toxic waste dump he lives next to or on top of.

As far as the zombies go, is it worth mentioning that most see the brain munchers as a metaphor for the proletariat? Small wonder there was a massive boom in that stuff around the turn of the '70s...

Are there not people and groups out there, some of them with a lot of influence, power, and money, that want to do that?

Israel have been failing to wipe out the Palestinians since the '60s. Can you name anybody who's doing any better? Hussein couldn't even manage to wipe out all of the Iraqi kurds, and that was back when he did still have WMDs...

It doesn't take outside groups to commit genocide. The neighbors are always good for that. Rwanda (Hutu vs tsusti[sp?]), Serbs and (I always forget the other guy's name), Israel (Jews and Palestinians), Darfur vs their fellow countrymen, ad infinitum.

I don't see how one world government would benefit anyone but the haves, and quite frankly I'm OK without OWG.

If they'd had a couple of nuclear warheads to put on top of those V-2s, the war would have been over in however long it took to arrange the conference call between Churchill, Stalin, and Roosevelt.

No thankyou.
We should be headed in the opposite direction.

P.S. and Western countries would "benefit" the least from a "one world government" as we'd be expected to "pony up" the most for it, as "usual!"

There's no way in hell a V2 could have lifted a nuclear warhead.

Details, details, Moonhead.  I am sure that if they would have had a couple of nuclear warheads they would have figured out some sort of delivery system.

Ah, shit, that's a good point. I was thinking in terms of modern weapons. Nukes of that generation weighed 4 or 5 tons.

OK, but like Aylee so succinctly says, details details. Load 'em onto a long range bomber and drop one on a medium-sized English city, like we did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki instead of Tokyo. Or the beach head at Normandy. Or the Netherlands, on top of the armored spearhead of Market Garden. Or whatever. The point is, if Hitler had had nuclear weapons, the war would have had a very different result.

Are you sure? Conventional bombing killed a lot more people at Dresden than died at Horishima and Nagasaki put together, and most of the long range bombers got trashed during the battle of Britain.

The firebombing of Tokyo killed about as many people as each of the two atomic bombs we dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but it was the atomic bombs that ended the war. Even used as a tactical weapon on the battlefield, I think a nuclear weapon would have quickly changed the course of the European war in Germany's favor.

Radioactivity wasn't a factor back then, and I'm not sure that the bluff that worked on Japan (which had already lost the war and was looking for an excuse to surrender while maintaining some semblance of dignity) would have had any impact at all on Russia. Losing London would have probably taken Britain out of the war pretty handily though, true enough.

As for tactical bombs, those were another thirty or forty years off. There weren't even hydrogen bombs until the turn of the '50s, never mind anything smaller.

The problem Germany had with its nuclear program was one of their own making. By forcing the Jewish physicists out of Germany in the early 30's, the totally destroyed their ability to construct a nuclear bomb.

By 1942, the research into nuclear fission in Germany had reached to point where the scientists working on the project saw no way that fission would end the war sooner, and the project was pretty much dropped.

Physicists were either assigned to other projects with more pressing war value or even drafted into the army. Paul O. Müller, a member of the Uranverein was drafted into the German army and was killed at the Russian front, is a notable example of how the German government treated nuclear physicists during the war.

Two things:

1.  25,000 at Dresden (German Dresden Historians' Commission) versus over 70,000 at Nagasaki and 80,000 at Hiroshima.

2.  Nagasaki and Hiroshima as well as 33 other cities were warned by pamphlet that the bombs were coming days in advance.

What I want to know about this One World Government situation is simple...

First it was Reagan, then Bush, then Clinton, then Bush jr, NOW Obama....

All are supposedly part of the conspiracy, yet all of them had different political agendas, complete opposite political agendas.

If ANY political leader is part of the secret plan, how come it aint happened yet?

Of course, there is this little tidbit:

quote:

The Internet is an amazing invention, which allows anyone with a library card or a laptop to access troves of information—not all of it credible, mind.
