While I know most of us work regardless of what time of year it is(not including elementary/secondary teachers), there is more of an abundance of fun to be had. for me- i just got back from Otakon(anime convention) and i had a great time.I even met some members of this site there. later this week, i'm off to portland for a wedding and before i resume my day-to-day of school/work, i'm going back home to visit my father in london. What are some things you have planned for the last month or so of the summer?

ugh. my daughter is actually STILL at otakon. I got there long enough to check her and her friends into the hotel and took off. I did everything I could to avoid that mess!

My summer this year is filled with packing and hunting for another job, selling a house and finding an apartment/condo.

Yay me. sigh.

No nothing fun for me until next year.

ha! that's one way of looking at it I guess! Right now it's all one big giant stress between getting my daughter sent off to college and moving and finding a new job and starting my entire life over again.

I can't wait till I'm all done. I'm exhausted!

One nice thing about sending them off to college is that they gain an entirely new appreciation for everything you do for them.  Be sure to monitor your daughter for freshman stress/homesickness, most of them get it close to halfway through the semester.

Heading up to New Hampshire and Maine this month to see the family.
My brother has a place on Damriscotta Lake and a boat.
I'll be flying this year! First I leave here at 7:25 am (yuck) to Charlotte with an hour and a half layover, then to Philly with a two hour layover then to Portland, Maine landing at about 3 pm and rent a car and drive down to my sister's house in Hampton, N.H.

This weekend we're headed out in the motor home to go to The Testicle Festival in Montana.  Yep, you read it right.  It's 4 days of drinking and eating bull balls.  I've heard some stories of past festivals so am looking forward to seeing some wild crazy people do some wild insane things.

We're driving to Austria next week with a side trip to Liechtenstein then heading to the States for 10 days on August 14th to visit family and friends. Hope to squeeze in a trip to San Marino and another visit to Switzerland as well. Himself has the entire month of August off so we are going to be traveling fools. :D
