I'll watch ANYTHING with Morgan Freemen in it.

I watched 10 Items of Less.

It was a decent movie.

WHY?

Because Morgan Freeman was in it........

Then again I would watch a 4 hour program of him reading the Phone Book so who knows.

Absolutely!

Anything with Morgan Freeman in it is an automatic ticket.  There aren't that many actors out there that I say that about.  Whatever it is, if he's in it, I automatically know that it's going to be a good movie, just because I think he's fabulous.

He made "March of the Penguins" an excellent move... He is like Anthony Hopkins the movies he is in may not always the best but he is.

Butch

GreedyTop -> RE: Morgan Freeman (7/29/2010 9:25:33 AM)

yeah.. MOrgan and Kevin Spacey... always a draw for me.

I loved him in The Contract, with John Cusack.

"I'm not intimidated by lead roles. I'm better in them. I don't feel pressure.
I feel released at times like that. That's what I'm born to do."
quoted by our very own Morgan Freeman (swoons)

Everyone thinks I'm sick because I laughed hysterically at the part where the penguin dropped their egg and it immediately froze and cracked...The penguins just stood there looking at it like "WTF do we do now?"
hahahaha I still laugh just thinking about it....and yes I'm definitely on PETA's most wanted list

submissivemale22 -> RE: Morgan Freeman (7/29/2010 9:39:17 AM)

isnt he something of a creep in real life though? i thought i read something about him dating his niece or something bizarre like that.

Lockit -> RE: Morgan Freeman (7/29/2010 9:46:35 AM)

He does a series called: Through the Wormhole on a cable channel, that I just found and want to catch more often.

As for movies... I haven't met a character of him that I didn't like. I love all the movies already mentioned but there was also High Crimes, Unforgiven, The Civil War, Lean on me and Deep Impact.

I love that man as an actor!

Me too. Not sure but I may have seen everything he's ever ben in.

I actually bought Costner's awful Robin Hood on dvd because it has a few good scenes with Freeman.

Arpig -> RE: Morgan Freeman (7/29/2010 11:14:55 AM)

Ah yes, Morgan...you can always count on him to turn in a good performance, even if the movie is a dog

slaveluci -> RE: Morgan Freeman (7/29/2010 5:07:52 PM)

Get some tissues for that one, Greedy, you will need them. Great movie, and another that is in my collection.
I have to second/third/whatever Shawshank Redemption. One of the best movies ever!

His narration of the rape scene in Shawshank is unforgetable.

Arpig -> RE: Morgan Freeman (7/30/2010 12:53:29 PM)

Yeah Shawshank is another great one...I wish it played on TV more often

angelikaJ -> RE: Morgan Freeman (7/30/2010 1:29:00 PM)

My first recollections of him were from The Electric Company and after that Another World... and then a friend showed me Street Smart (1987) on VHS probably 20 years ago.
His performance in that got him best supporting actor nominations with both the Golden Globes and the Academy and he won the Independent Spirit award.

Lve -> RE: Morgan Freeman (7/30/2010 3:00:58 PM)

The Shawshank Redemption
Se7en
The Sum of All Fears
Bruce Almighty
Dreamcatcher
Million Dollar Baby
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
Lucky Number Slevin
The Bucket List
Wanted
Invictus
