Maybe I'm being ignorant here, but bruises taking a month to go away seem excessive to me. I would make a sub of mine go to the doctor (after bruises were gone for discretion) and tell him that when bruised, it takes a month to go away and see if bloodwork is needed. I have not left bruising, though I spend a lot of time spanking or using a paddle or hairbrush...because I do a long, slow warmup before getting more ouchie. I like it to last. Somtimes I trail some ice over the hot pink skin just to hear the gasping and watch the water trickle down. Using ice too long can damage tissue, making them more vulnerable to impact related injuries. Why not use the Search feature in the message boards (look to the upper right where there's a row of flags, over the first flag is Search), and type bruise, or care of bruises, and see what comes up...maybe under Health And Safety. When I've tested impacts on myself before doing them to any sub, I've gotten large bruising, and I preferred to make it spread out more within my tissues with a long, very hot bath. After the first day, I would alternate between a heating pad, about 15 minutes, and a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towel, for about 15 minutes. I don't know where my first aid book is to be sure of what they recommend, but this worked for me and bruises the size of grapefruits were gone somewhere between 5-7 days. One time when I took a major fall and had a whopping bruise, the doctor told me to NOT massage the area, and do not do a lot of exercize or I could break up clotting and maybe have a problem from that. Read up, learn...if your healing time is way beyond normal then see your doctor. You may have a vitamin deficiency or something that would be easily fixed.
