MochaMistress -> ARRGGG April 15 tax deadline (4/15/2006 4:11:22 PM)

Taxed are done and in the mail.

I have a fantasy about taking an auditor from the IRS into a dugeon and work out an itemized deduction on his buttocks.

Oh boy I feel better now. Do you know the way to margaritaville? If you do I will be sitting there with a supersized one.

KatyLied -> RE: ARRGGG April 15 tax deadline (4/15/2006 4:17:00 PM)

This year the deadline in April 17th, because the 15th falls on the weekend.
I do my (federal return) early, I have to because my son's FAFSA is due at his college on March 15th.

gooddogbenji -> RE: ARRGGG April 15 tax deadline (4/15/2006 4:27:52 PM)

It's good to be Canadian.  End of April.  It's even better to be waaaaaay too lazy to collect receipts, and not having a lot of work involved.

Okay, so we pay way more taxes than you guys, but I can still lie back proudly for a few weeks, and fantasize about being an auditor who happens to wander into Margaritaville's dungeon...

Tee hee!

Yours,

benji

At one time I had visited Washington, DC and I took a picture of the IRS building. Why? I thought the picture was priceless because there were three homeless people standing right next to the IRS sign. Nothing is funny about being homeless.... but the combination of the two was... well... priceless.

Be careful Benji I'm closer to Canada than you think. Very easy to drag your ass across the border and stick you in a corporate power suit to take out my IRS auditor fantasy on you.

KatyLied, yup the extention is great but I will be too busy on Monday with work to deal with the taxes which is why my deadline was still today. I would have loved the reprieve and holding my own money for a few more days.

Gauge, that would have been a priceless photo. Sometimes I feel that if it wasnt for taxes I would be wealthy.

proudsub, I so happy that I'm not in the corporate finance department. My own taxes are enough hassle.

On my second picture of Margaritas. And life is very fine right now. Just need a cabana boy to entertain me.

MochaMistress,

I have 12 nicely pressed suits in my closet.  I'll send You my address on the other side if You want, but You'd better make it worth Your while!  After all, pleasure is taxable.

Yours,

benji

Edited to add:  I checked...  You may be close to Canada, but not to me....

MochaMistress -> RE: ARRGGG April 15 tax deadline (4/15/2006 10:07:21 PM)

benji,

Yes you are on the east coast. Family business do bring me to Ohio often enough to enjoy a bit of a side trip kidnapping. That Sin tax is a real bummer but well worth it.

gooddogbenji -> RE: ARRGGG April 15 tax deadline (4/15/2006 10:22:51 PM)

MochaMistress,

You may want to think twice about whether it's worth it.  Sin Tax is far higher on this side of the border, plus you get a withholding tax for not having sinned in the US.

Revenue Canada and the IRS can be quite deadly combined.  But then again, that is something that can be discussed in the privacy of wherever I get payback, no?

Yours,

benji

I love the way every time you come to a complicated point in the tax code, you just KNOW you're getting screwed.  They all sound like they were added just for good ol' Dick Cheney.  Ordinary filers rarely benefit from any of these complications.

Yea, with that 1.9 Million dollar refund he is getting, something seems to be working in his favor. [:@]

Actually, you can even get a second extension with a deadline of October 15th.

As I understand it, the one and only extension goes right to 10/15 now.

In the some states in the Northeast, the filing deadline is 4/18 since Monday, Patriot's Day, is a holiday.  Lucky us.

Flat tax or sales tax is the way to go.
