Oh my goodness MCapto! Both of those options work! Hitting the backspace key is the easiest.

Thank you! :)

My son was just talking about Opera the other day, one of his friends uses it and raves about it.

Newest version my ass. I like IE 6. I can do things with it others can't do. The newer versions lack many options I got used to and appear to be written for an eight year old to use.

Fuck all that. Reinstall XP and get SP2 ONLY, no further. You will be much happier.

You have IE 8. Already you will see that even when you have one window open, it runs twice in your task manager.. and the CPU usage... holy crap! Combine that with Windows 7, that is always trying to fix things and you encounter the freeze issue.
Try another browser.
I hate firefox, it is becoming just as slow and is constantly trying to install new add-ons.
In my browser stuff I have added in
Opera, which runs clean, and Safari, which runs fast.

I run IE only when I am banking, or when the site I am using requires it.

from the Microsoft.com webpage, download IE from there,

delete the old icon, and use the new one.

your IE is missing files or corrupt, just save the bookmarks/faves you want and take em to the new IE.

Me ? Nope, only on the laptop. I don't like it and I can't find the things I want.
