BalletBob -> RE: This goes out specifically to under 20s and over 60s (7/6/2010 9:16:44 PM)

Okay, I can answer here. I am over 60 (OUCH). The age (Mine) hasn't affected it one bit. Not having s Mistress, has affected it.  I am just looking for some fun, and hopefully giving some to a Mistress, at the same time. This site? Not much, as in getting a Mistress, but I would just be as happy with friends. After all, that is how it started out with MADAM.

I don't feel as there is any age bias here. I think most are in the older age bracket.

Still crazy, after all these years, sub BalletBob

Sorry to be replying again so soon, but i wanted to clarify:

i'm not trying to call anyone out who answered the original thread of "What's with all the 18 year olds calling themselves Masters?" (The thread was called something like that...) i was not referring to that thread specifically when i said that i've heard ageist things on this site. i was not referring to anyone specifically, either. Actually, i didn't think that OP was ageist, or that my response was ageist, but when i saw several young people react so strongly, it made me do a double take. Like, maybe there's a reason they're reacting that way. Upon examination, i had to admit that i do sometimes say things that are ageist. i have heard other people on this site do it as well, on occasion. (Please don't assume i am talking about YOU.) i'm not referencing any specific person or statement, i'm just saying that things like that are said, sometimes. i guess i never really thought about it, until now. So, that's why i started this thread, because i wanted to hear the opinions of people who are outside the standard age bracket for this site. What are their experiences? Do they feel they are discriminated against or not taken seriously because of their age.

It seems to me that many people who answered the thread feel that the term "Master" implies a status/commitment/proficiency that must be EARNED BY EXPERIENCE. If that is the case then it's fair to say that the average 18-year-old cannot have earned the title of "Master", yet. On the other hand, if the term simply refers to an orientation (the same way that "Dominant" and "submissive" refer to orientations or temperments) then anyone who feels that they have that orientation is free to refer to themselves by that title.

Sorry if i have caused confusion or offended anyone.

I want only to address the age = experience aspect which sadly still comes up. Experience is life experience including training and work as much as what you do in your leisure times. I know many older men who are less experienced than their age may indicate. In face some are complete screw ups and are unable to get many things right even after the first three times. They are just simple blokes who like things simple and will happily allow anyone with more ability and even experience to take the lead. On the other hand, I was a kid when I arrived in 'Nam as a commissioned officer US Spec Forces. I was 25 when I left as a line officer. At roughly 21 or so years many blokes are at their peak regarding hand eye coordination and ability to make fast accurate decisions which is why top gun and other top level fighter pilots in control of multi million dollar combat aircraft and in that age group. Sure I'll question a "Master" of 18 years or so but that I question everyone. I'll give him a fair go and see how he performs. much can be learned by sitting back quietly and watching, listening and just absorbing what others do, say and act. My beef is more with the "I want it and I want it now" mob who are just not prepared to spend the time learning and even listening to those who can walk the walk and talk the talk.. I actually have more friends and acquaintences around my Neet's age (35) than mine (65 in August). But then the best died young.... I say give the young ones a fair go and give the old farts a go too. generally I look at females potentially as slaves at Neet's age group more for practical reasons I would tend to look to a slightly older group and lets face it there are some adorable and absolutely beautiful women in every sense of the world who will never see 40 again..  Agfain for me, it isn't so much age which has caught up with me but a fucked up immune system, osteoarthritis in both knees (Shit I used to be bullit proof and now I need body armour to about being decked by a goose's fart) and T2 diabetres has knocked the shyte out of me so I tend to take it slower than I used to.. Ahh well next millennium I'll have my second wind and be as dangerous as a malley bull in mating season

Don't get the oldies saying that they can't find play...

From what I've seen, the older you get, the more options you have. More true for men than women....

Mine are 8 years younger, my father's girlfriend is 20 years younger. His reasonable range is much greater than mine.

...And I do expect 18 year olds to be flighty.

IronBear -> RE: This goes out specifically to under 20s and over 60s (7/8/2010 1:48:17 AM)

Depends where you live mate. The social and even interstate cultural differences appear to play a major part in this. very much a core peer group (in society not just in the kink/BDSM arena) will say the a young thing playing with an old fart is "Just not done" or is "Nasty". Most people do not want to appear to go against the "Norm" and appear too different in case they too are ostracised. I've commented often enough how Australia is and has been for decades in the throws of worshipping youth (under 35) even to the detriment of the older members of society unless they are financially powerful or are long established in the scene or local society. My wife and I found this even with the local SCA. I have been a member in another state for years and well known but had dropped out for a few years. When the locals realised that Neets was not my daughter but my then fiancée' we were cold shouldered out. Not open enough to have discrimination charges brought bot shouldered out and quietly told that there was no place for such a disgusting relationship in the SCA. Still there are others out there who couldn't give a damn and who are not part of the public BDSM/Kink scene.

Okey, I am over 60 and under 90. [:D] It's true ... the skin of my ass has thinned. My dermatologist made it official. The cane hurts much more now than ever before. My experience in the clubs ... not so good. However, younger women have been kind (in a cruel fashion) in relationships. I ran into one thread on CM which I found repellant ... a few young women remarking upon the "smell" of old age. When I objected I was told they were just joking and I should not be so old a fuddy duddy. I had a lovely LDR here on CM with a much younger woman across the Pond. I will always cherish the memory of it. Ironically, I received a disapproving email from a Domme my age who chastised me for that relationship. I can understand her POV. Overall, the denizens of CM have been very polite and accepting towards me. I have no complaints.

Some may relate to this experience: In my mind I am the same person I was thirty years back with the same passions. However, I am continually astonished to find some elderly stranger in my mirror who will not go away. [:D]

The conclusion to be drawn is that most fems prefer studs as a primary consideration.......... but I get even because I will never consider a fem under 40

CP,

I find your response quite interesting. I'm uncertain of your age, but aware that many older gentlemen seeking companions in this realm typically approach women far younger than themselves. I can't place myself in the category of women described. I merely have a heavy bias for metrosexual men. I would never consider them the studly sort. [;)]

IronBear,

In my opinion the bias mentioned has always existed and will probably remain in some context. Your comments suggest people have no desire to go against the norm. I don't believe I can honestly speak for the parties mentioned, but will candidly admit that there are many people that have no interest in relations of that nature. That doesn't make them bad or unwilling to shake things up. It's indicative of their ability to exercise choices based on the behaviors they deem suitable for them, much like you have. I think oftentimes the cries of ageism when an individual is declined are incorrect. We're entitled to our preferences and if that entails a gentlemen within ones age range and discriminates against persons outside those parameters no crime has been committed.

txurinal -> RE: This goes out specifically to under 20s and over 60s (7/10/2010 7:58:17 AM)

Not quite in the age range (50's) but in my experience with those who have contacted me on this site. Some have been my age or younger by 10 years or so and the age thing does not seem to be an issue.

However, having said that, i am often contacted by those under 30. In replying back to them i always say that although i am a well trained slave, i am over 50 and wonder to myself why a 20 something would be interested unless they are looking for a cash slave. Would a 25 year old really be happy with a 24/7 live in 50 year old slave?

As i said, i am over 50 and would never call myself attractive, so all this slave can offer is service, obedience, respect, experience, and a desire to place a MASTER first in its life. Maybe that is unrealistic but a slave can hope

IronBear -> RE: This goes out specifically to under 20s and over 60s (7/10/2010 12:13:36 PM)

I asked myself a similar question trurinal when Neets and I first got together. She was 22 and I was 52. We have been together happily for 12 years now and married for 10 this September. Just shows that wonders do happen.

couldbemage -> RE: This goes out specifically to under 20s and over 60s (7/10/2010 4:22:12 PM)

Wow.

Regional differences can be amazing.

When I was a kid, my father's captain at the firehouse had a string of under 21 girlfriends, and that got him kidding mixed with praise.

My dad's current girlfriend is 20 years his junior, and no one has even commented on it. (My dad is your age)

txurinal -> RE: This goes out specifically to under 20s and over 60s (7/11/2010 6:45:26 AM)

IRONBEAR, YOU are 100% right, SIR. One should never say never. Maybe it should be less skeptical.

it does feel it has a lot to offer and should concentrate on the positive. Of course it depends on the person, but a young slave would have an easier time pleasing an older Dominant than the other way around. But then, maybe it would depend on what the Dominant was looking for in the sub and the relationship
