Well, people always immediately say "start going to munches" but for real newbies that might be intimidating.
If you want some advice for this site I would say that the first thing you should do is update your profile a little. It doesn't really tell me something about you as a person. You're not too hard on the eyes, so if you know also now how to behave, chances that you'll find someone aren't too slim. Tell your future spanker what interests you, who you are as a person, maybe what you do for a living or what fills your day. What aspect of your character do you like best (don't immediatly tell them your flaws though ;-))
When you approach a Domme, first of all, in your first mail do NOT offer your services to her, do not tell them you want to be their slave. Tell them you have read their profile (well, don't just tell them, actually read it), ask them something about their profile to show you have read it. Even if their profile is crystal clear, ask something silly or ask how their view on "this" or "that" is. It shows you've read their profile and have an interest in them. Show interest like this for a while through e-mail and ask them questions to keep their attention (and they'll feel a bit forced to keep talking to you), in the mix you could throw some of your views around, of what you would think is an ideal relation ship (btw, an ideal relationship is not sex, pizza and spankings), hope they'll respond or give their views.
After you've felt you know a bit about them, ask them if you could buy them a cup of coffee, if they want to go to the movies with you, have a drink somewhere,... because you want to learn more about them as a person, want to know how they sound in real life, how their face moves around as words leave their mouth. Don't immediately ask for a spanking date, a play session, meet them in real life a few times, then you might get a "feel" of where this thing is going to. Good lord, I should teach a course ;-)
