When you are making an agreement do you go 50:50 or 100:100. This came out of a previous thread where one respondent said that ideally relationships should be 100:100.  Is there a difference between 50:50 and 100:100? Which one would You go for Ladies?

Well actually the same person has since said that 75:75 is the best option. Personally i would go 90:60 in favour of the Domme. What do You think Ladies

50:50 is a compromise.  100:100 is a collaboration.

If we are splitting a cake 50:50 is a fair deal, it means we each get half a cake.

On the other hand if you have, say, a flock of chickens.  They are great, they give you eggs, they give you meat, the only problem is they also poop, a lot.

Meanwhile I have a plot of really crappy land.  doesn't even grow weeds.  I need to fertilize it.

So, I go to you and get the poop from your chickens.  I take it away and use it as fertilizer.  We both get what we want.  You get rid of chicken poop, I get fertilized land.  It's not 50/50 because neither of us gave anything up to meet the other's desires.  Instead by meeting my desires I helped you meet yours.

Those are both the same ratio.  1:1.  A ratio expresses the magnitude of quantities relative to each other. Specifically, the ratio of two quantities indicates how many times the first quantity is contained in the second.

Is the humor part supposed to be about sex?  Because if so, you screwed it up.

DarkSteven -> RE: Is 50:50 the same as 100:100? (7/3/2010 8:19:20 AM)

The ratio is the same.  But to me, 50/50 means that each party is giving an equal amount, and 100/100 means that each party is giving all they have.

I work with numbers all day long and think of them as a part of life, not as something funny...

AQuietSimpleMan -> RE: Is 50:50 the same as 100:100? (7/3/2010 8:28:54 AM)

Serious answer in a Humor section.

50:50 when it talks about relationships is something most people mistake for a Single situation. If there is only ONE Pie then 50:50 is an equal concept one gets half and the other gets half.

In a relationship each person has a whole self to give into it. So there are Two Pies. If you use 50:50 to denote the relationship each person is only giving Half of their potential. This usually shows up in the idea that I will only give THIS much until they show me This and This. When there are two Pies, 50:50 leave 100% of distance between the two people. Each person is expecting the other to give more first and not trusting their other half until the see it.

Without this trust there is no foundation.

100:100 in a relationship means that each person is giving everything they got to make it work. They have trusted everything they got with someone else who is giving everything they got. This is a union where people seek solutions NOT problems or compromise.

What I see commonly enough is 100:50 where one person puts themselves out completely and another person uses past relationships to hold back, using fear as an excuse not to meet the same effort of their partner.

In a relationship 100:100 must, and yes I said MUST, be achieved for it to be a mutually benificial relationship.

wow, that actually makes sense.

So lobodomslavery, I am going to have to agree with DarkSteven

Musicmystery -> RE: Is 50:50 the same as 100:100? (7/3/2010 10:55:49 AM)

Not to mention the assumption that a relationship is a zero sum game.

I strongly disagree.  Two people can each get more out of a relationship than they would have as singles.

In which case, Steven, we agree. I was adding to rejecting the proposition, the mistaken assumption.

Synergy and all that.

Yeah, that was my quarrel with it and why I brought up 100/100

A relationship is two people, putting in and getting out certain amounts, they relate, but in ways that are way more complex than a percentage.

lobodomslavery -> RE: Is 50:50 the same as 100:100? (7/4/2010 2:17:10 AM)

im going for 80:70 actually 69:80 sounds better to me on reflection. Now no one can accuse me of adjusting the numbers up or down i ve changed the cumulative figure to 149 so there you are folks
