Perhaps in a perfect world every day would be Sadie Hawkins Day.

People should do what feels natural for them.

I've been both the chaser and the chasee depending on what felt right at the moment.

There really is no "should" one way or the other.

I like to think we're both the prize and the relationship is the representation of that award.  The goal, though, is to not squander it away like a lottery winner on meaningless junk.

Agrees with the others that it's gender based, not orientation. That's just how the numbers work.

Beyond that, we talk about the most attractive trait a dominant can have is confidence. As such, someone who is confidant is usually not terrified of rejection and is willing to risk it by being the one to start the conversation.

Should the D-types be the ones doing the hunting(in your personal opinion)?

People should do what feels right to them.

While I certainly didn't view myself as a prize, I was usually just too shy to do the initiating of such conversations.  It was a rare occurrence when I did.  Daddy contacted me first because I just wasn't interested in a relationship at the time, and wasn't pursuing anything.  I wasn't all that responsive at first because of my hesitation to engage in this direction again.

I agree with Shore, though - the relationship is the prize.

My very first scene name was 'The Huntress'!
I always preferred to hand select and even when I came on this site (before I met Steve) I tended to pick out profiles I found attractive and drop them a hello. I also went for subs that didn't seem too bothered about finding a Mistress because those that write long drawn out letters usually write to everyone. The ones that write are often not selective enough. Perhaps they start off being selective and just get to the point where any female Domme will do. I was never prepared to be just any fem Domme!

i have come across people here who identify as bottoms/submissives/slaves that openly state that they are the prize and that the Tops/Dominants should be so honoured as to be with somebody of their s-type nature.

The people that hold themselves out as "prizes", in any aspect of life, are fucking tools who have suspended reality and have a distorted view of themselves.

The "prize" is the relationship not either one of it's members.

I would bet that those people who truly view themselves as "prizes" have a low percentage of long term healthy relationships.

So... you are saying I am NOT the grand prize?

What about my self esteem?
