One of the first signs you're a meth addict - you wake up to find out that you were arrested nude and bloodied with the use of tasers as you are beginning the long horrid process of withdrawal in the local jail:

The 31-year-old woman from Kearns was booked Tuesday evening after getting a mental evaluation.


This was certainly an unusual call for West Valley City officers. They say it's laughable now, but mostly, they're just happy no one was seriously injured.


Five o'clock in the morning is not usually a busy time on Highway 111 in West Jordan. But Tuesday morning was different.


As West Valley City police Capt. Tom McLachlan said, "This was an episode that is out of the normal."
And that's an understatement.

It takes all kinds, and we gotem.

Shit like this is really only a car theft, hardly newsworthy under normal conditions. But under these conditions it gives the cops something to talk about. Hey, they need a little excitement in their lives as well right ? After weeks of writing speeding tickets they are probably itching for a good bank robbery or something, and the ensuing high speed chase at least.

Of course an incident like this used to make me wonder what is going through some people's minds, but I wonder no more. NOTHING is going through their minds.

All I can say is back in my day streakers didn't steal cars. What will these youngins do next ?

A woman that ends up without any clothing in public has obviously just escaped a traumatic event.  There's a huge red flag here, the woman had no clothes on and she was trying to get away from something.

I didn't say that.  However, if you're going to bring up shit like that, let's just say, leave it to a man to assume that because it's a woman, there was no real valid reason behind her actions.

The woman was dirty, sweaty, naked and had blood on her, how much more evidence do you need that something not quite right was going on here?

I don't know if you read the article, or if you did then maybe you didn't read the same article that I did. Apparently she was in her own car. Stopped and stole another car (and apparently NOT bloody at that point). She could have just kept going in her own car if she was trying to excape someone. She was then chased by the owner of the car she just stole with that cars owner now driving HER car. She crashed that car (which is where she became bloody), then stole a police car. that she then crashes. She climbs over a barbed wire fence, while naked, and eventually has to be tased. That is NOT the actions of someone that is just trying to excape a bad situation.

Come on people. If anyone is escaping a dangerous/abusive situation the last thing they would do is to run from the cops.

Ok, after reading all these replies, I realize you weren't. Those were not the actions of a woman running from an abusive situation. (imo) These seem more the actions of someone possibly in a manic state or a schizophrenic state. (imo)

No, I'm not joking.  Maybe she took the other guy's car cause she was afraid of someone else catching up with her in her own car.  Also, not everyone thinks that the cops are the go-to guys when you're in trouble.  I've also been in a situation where all my clothes were taken from me in an attempt to keep me from leaving.  That was a really long time ago, but that's also why I would think that she was trying to escape an abusive situation.  Yeah, I know, I've been around.  Why do people just assume that women are stupid and do things without rhyme nor reason?

I have to go, this is upsetting.

I didn't mean to upset you. It just seems quite a jump from "naked woman steals two cars...one of them a police car" to "fleeing abuser". But ok.
