Sanity -> The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne (6/16/2010 9:10:07 PM)

I thought the man was teetering on the brink of death but the rumors have been greatly exaggerated, apparently. He's got a new album out just today, here's the intro:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg5i9xF87R8&feature=related

Here's the entire song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e-TYCiZ-4Q

The first few lines of lyrics to the song "Let me hear you scream!"

quote:

I'm black and bruised, beat up but still I take the blows
'Cause all I need is blood and sweat and skin and bones
I'll take this bait, resolve your case, nobody said it's easy
It's do or die, only the strong survive, get ready for the last stand!
Get ready, I'm your hangman!

Let me hear you scream like you want it!
Let me hear you yell like you mean it!
If you gotta, GO DOWN!
GO LOUD!
GO STRONG!
GO PROUD!
GO ON!
GO HARD OR GO HOME!
Let me hear you! (let me hear you!)
Let me hear you! (let me hear you!)
Let me hear you scream!

The rest are here

I've never been a huge Ozzy fan, but I thought this song was kind of cool.

Sounds like a publicity stunt.

Have you seen the man being interviewed?
He's hard pressed stringing a coherent sentence together.

Sanity -> RE: The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne (6/16/2010 10:01:29 PM)

Speaking of coherent sentences, Ozzy seems quite proud of all the drugs he has taken:

quote:

Museum exhibition Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne plans to donate his body to a museum when he dies.

The Black Sabbath rocker - who has battled problems with drink and drugs over the years - believes he's a "medical miracle" for surviving all the substances he has put into his body and believes his corpse should be shown off at London's Natural History Museum.

He said: "By all accounts I'm a medical miracle. When I die, I should donate my body to the Natural History Museum. It's all very well going on a bender for a couple of days - but mine went on for 40 years. At one point I was knocking back 4 bottles of cognac a day, blacking out, coming to again, and carrying on. While filming TV show 'The Osbournes' I was also shoving 42 types of prescription medication down my neck, morning, noon and night - and that was before all the dope I was smoking in my 'safe' room, away from the cameras. Meanwhile, I used to get through cigars like they were cigarettes. I'd even smoke them in bed."

The 61-year-old star admits his stash of prescription pills and painkillers was so great, friends of his nicknamed him "Dr. Ozzy" and would often pop by for a cure for their ailments.

Feels he must be some kind of an oddity, which makes how well he sings in the new album all the more amazing to me.

The darkness called: there will be a lawsuit with DNA results proving that Ozzy is, in fact, not of family blood.

Why does the name Milli-Vanilli come to mind? [sm=biggrin.gif]

He looked healthy enough in the intro.

Really surprised me though, so yes I do see your point.

Scientists are obviously amazed at him...
Ozzys genetic code to be mapped.

Ozzy isn't quite as "fried" as he comes across as, I think. Very shrewd man.

As for his music, he has put out a lot of mediocre stuff the last few years, and I don't see the new album as breaking that run. He's said he is open to recording with Black Sabbath again, and that's about the last hope for him that I have.

Sanity -> RE: The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne (6/17/2010 6:08:41 AM)

I know at least one girl who likes it, a lot. She sings it to me... "I'm black and bruised, beat up but still I take the blows..."

She thinks its wicked.  [;)]

True, Ozzy owes much of his post Sabbath fame to Sharon. Still, much of his work in Sabbath pales in comparison to much of his solo work and he outlived Dio. I don't think many folks would have taken that bet.

Wow, you know, he just never seemed quite as attractive in the early 90s when he cut this video -- he seems really HOT in this video when I watch it now, by comparison... or maybe my standards of attractiveness have changed...[:-]
