If you all remember my 'advice plz' thread yesterday, I set out to meet a fellow from this site today.

We met at a Starbucks (no, neither of us got anything from there). We spoke quite a bit, then took a walk around the plaza. He was very nice, polite, and generally an all-around good guy. I told him that I had a friend who was texting me to make sure he didn't abduct me. He said that his goal was to get me to come around again, and that if he abducted me then that would throw a wet blanket on the flames (so to speak). He also promised not to stalk me.

I got a bit hungry, so we went for an early dinner at Que Pasa, where I got spicy chicken wings and he got rice and beans. We talked about his dog, Nibbles. Afterwords we talked a little more, then as the hour was growing late, I departed. We had a nice goodbye hug, and I drove home. We set Monday as a potential next date.

As for the really gory stuff... when I got home, I ended up telling my mother everything. I usually keep her updated on all the terrible things I do, so I couldn't quite help myself. Told her that I went to meet a 27 year old guy I met from the internet (keep in mind, I am 18) and that I was interested in the BDSM lifestyle.

As I type, she took the dog on a walk with my father. I can only imagine the types of horrors they are planning for me.

You only think they went for a walk. They are really on their way to the hardware store to purchase the deadbolt for the outside of your bedroom door, and a bucket for you to use as a chamber pot. If you are lucky, they will let you out when you are 26 or so.

Thanks for sharing, we were all holding our breath and hoping for the best. Sounds like it was a great first meeting.

Oh the horror - parents way outweigh meeting someone for the first time in the horrible category!

Yay! I'm glad the meet went well, he sounds awesome. First meet and telling parents in the same day? Are you positive you're not a heavy masochist? I guess if one good thing comes out of it, you can always now tell your parents to give you $5 for condoms!

Well, a promising start. Except for the telling parents part.

If a kid of mine gets into bdsm when they're grown up, I don't think I want to know about it. (Hell, I don't think I'd even want to know about plain vanilla sexual activity....)

Well, I can't really say I blame them. It's not the thing many would want to hear from their children. Even if they could or do accept it, there's risks and no parent wants more of those for their children.

Glad it went well for you. I've got horror stories but it sounds like you picked a good one.

BTW, my *kids* are the ones who remind me about condoms. They don't want to know details but they also want to ensure that I am safe. Probably comes from telling them I'd buy them condoms if they needed them when they were teens.

Hell, I was 30 before I told my Mom that her favourite gold lampshade was actually destroyed in a "back of the couch pillow war" with my older brother, that one year her flowerbed was destroyed by firecrackers (I blame my brother for that, too)

and that I used to sneak out and go party with guys too old for me. She nearly had a heart attack when I told her that, at age 14, I was in a 3AM 'car over a cliff' accident that she knew nothing about, and that was 16 years after the fact.

She really does not want to know what goes on in my social life these days, and I respect that. LOL
