Domi's girlfriend barelynangel posted a thread too. One will likely get pulled so I'll cross post.

I may have to take a trip to Chicago to steal the cup and bring it back to Montreal... ;-)

In all seriousness, congrats to Chicago hockey fans. Well played ;-)

I thought of you boys while I watched the game in high def at work. Don Cherry looked classy. I was cheering for Chi Town all the way. Woot!

Yippee!

This year the Blackhawks rule!

Kind of amazing that an arena full of white guys can scat the chorus of this several times a night and get it right.

Oh humbug.

No one cares about black hawks.

They are not the Bulls.

It's a glorious day for Chicago sports.  Not only did the Hawks win, but they beat Philly.  As a result, a friend in Philly now owes me a wicked expensive bottle of Scotch.

Also, the Bulls have quite a respectable nucleus of young talent.

Now, once the Cubbies get Prior and Wood healthy, and Corey Patterson really comes into his own as a five tool player, it's going to be the best summer ever.

Since Dollar Bill died, and Rocky took over, the franchise has done some amazing things to promote NHL and the Blackhawks. I'm afraid no one gives a shit about the Bulls, unless they get James to come over.

Plus now Chicago can officially be labeled Title Town, sine they're the only city(out of 13) with 4 major league teams winning championships in their respective sports in the last 25 years.

I'm convinced that the mere act of putting the 'hawks back on TV was at least 1/2 the battle of getting them to the finals. I used to watch them on WGN on a BW TV way back in the 70's. But when they went off the air I lost interest. Been watching all season and loving every minute of it! So glad to see them win it all!

And yeah, I really miss the early 90's Bulls :(
And the '85 Bears. (sniff)

I'm waiting on Nolan Ryan to come back to the Astros.

I remember watching them on channel 44 UHF before it went Spanish.

There is a girl I work with (who was actually the first person to text me "Hawks win", a fact I cleverly bring up so as to remain on-topic) who admitted that when she was 5 or 6 she got angry with her older brother and shredded his Nolan Ryan rookie card.  After this scandalous admission, I shunned her, Dwight Schrute style, for an entire week.  Not much may be sacred, but I won't abide the desecration of Nolan Ryan images, not even from his time with the Mets.

Also once the Astros get Jose Cruz back on track and Glenn Davis starts putting up those power numbers again and Mike Scott gets the splitter working, it's going to be good times forever after.

Glenn Davis: that one magical season, and thinking, "hey, this is the best thing since Jimmy Wynn!" Not a lot of hammers in the early toolshed of Astros history there.

What a horrible woman, to do that to the Ryan; the hurricane took mine, several Ryans, Aarons, Namath, Staubachs, a near-complete set of the Big Red Machine, etc. Damn water.
