pahunkboy -> Home invasion, deconstruct? (5/28/2010 1:46:28 PM)

Do these happen in waves?

Batches?

What is the motive?  Do the victims know the perps?

Are they usually caught?

My area just had one last night- and details are sketchy.

From what I've heard many of these home invaisions in the Asian community are done by people who "know" or "know of" the victims like for example if they own a successful restaurant or other business for example.
Others seem to be "random" and it may seem "random" but it's usually the same people that'll do 3 or 4 until they get caught or shot.
Many times they'll bust the door down and yell out "Police!" or in the Southern states, "PO-Lice!", but unless you're a drug dealer the "PO-Lice" aren't going to break your door in.
So if that happens start shootin'!
"Oh yeah? I hate cops!" "Bam! Bam! Bam!"

Interesting.

The police have been silent on details.  The woman was tied up- now in the hospital. Her husband was out - but found her last night.  odd that it was a Thursday.

I have an update on this.

It never happened.   The lady faked the crime and is now changed.  I hope they throw the book at her. She is being charged with filing false report to the police.  She had people upset here and wasted the time of alot of people.

On the one hand- I am relieved.  On the other hand- how DARE she!

Jeffff -> RE: Home invasion, deconstruct? (6/19/2010 11:42:29 AM)

You should see if she has a brother. He might need comforting.

pahunkboy -> RE: Home invasion, deconstruct? (6/19/2010 11:57:19 AM)

-- I can see how this will go.  The dumb lady will get into the news paper to say her side of the story.

of course that never works.  she is 25 years old.    I dont know if she has a brother- but alot of police were on the scene when this "happened."  or as it were- in this case- did not happen.

They're usually looking for gold and silver, from what I understand. At least, the most violent ones usually are.

May 28, 2010 UPDATE: Few additional details on apparent home invasion A borough woman was assaulted and tied up in an apparent home invasion Thursday night in Northumberland, said borough police who declined to release any more details of the alleged crime Friday.

The woman, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for observation. She was found still bound by her husband, who returned to their 326 Water St. home at about 11:40 p.m.

Phone records identify Jason W. Carl as the home’s resident.

Police from Selinsgrove and Point Township, and the Northumberland County K-9 unit, joined Northumberland police in searching for the alleged suspect.

“This is unusual for Northumberland,” borough police Sgt. Cliff Kriner said around 1 a.m. Friday, after county Sheriff Chad Reiner and his 4-year-old German shepherd, Clark, had made their way through the house and come up empty.

Police checked local bars and a truck carrying bloodhounds arrived at the scene shortly after 1 a.m.

No one responded Friday at the home, where a front-window air conditioner whirred and the blinds on all the windows were drawn.

Northumberland police investigating the incident were unavailable Friday and no further details about the alleged victim and suspect were provided.

They did release a terse statement advising residents in the area to keep doors locked and call police if they see any suspicious activity.

An elderly neighbor said he wasn’t aware anything was amiss until police and an ambulance arrived on the scene late Thursday.

The man said he didn’t know the couple’s name, but said they’d lived in the house for about a year and had two young children.

Northumberland Crime Watch participant Adam Klock said he’d like police to be more forthcoming about the unusual incident.

“At a minimum they ought to be letting us know who to look out for,” the King Street resident said.

Klock said he wasn’t being critical of law enforcement and understands some details have to be withheld to preserve the investigation, but some information should be released.

He said a neighbor noticed two suspicious men in the area Thursday and he’s encouraged him to notify police.

“Any lead may be important,” Klock said, adding community members should be diligent. “We have to let the police do their jobs, but people may have information.”/snip

DarwinsLilHelper -> RE: Home invasion, deconstruct? (6/19/2010 1:56:12 PM)

The highest percentage of home invasions are perpetrated by persons known to the victim. Usually involving debt real, imagined or illicit. This should in no way imply that predatory home invasion by persons not known to the resident are not a significant portion of the home invasion statistics and yes, there are a very small percentage of faked home invasions, for one reason or another.

I suggest the .40 Smith & Wesson, 115 gr Blue Tip Glaser Safety Slug or 12 gauge, 2 3/4" Low Recoil LE #4 Buck personally.

I doubt you have shown the mental stability necessary to actually purchase a gun.

You just made that all up.

I thought the victim most the time knows the perp.

This event is very unusual for this 4 county area.

The tight lips of police was also unusual.   Most crime - the harder crime- is caught and punished.  (locally)

The lady crying wolf- I sure she will run into attitude- people do not like being played.

Missokyst -> RE: Home invasion, deconstruct? (6/19/2010 2:58:43 PM)

Around here most home invasions are drug related. Basically known druggies are being raided by other druggies.
And, there are those few that are cover-ups for errant husbands or wives who are in danger of being caught at doing something.
