Sorry Syrox. Some of us are not going to announce ourselves to the world at large as being kinky. Some people will lose jobs for that, or child custody or be no longer welcome at home.

Agreed, but thus far it is the only real way i have found yet to weed out the undesirable element that this thread is about. and given that you don't get any sort of access to the site, or it,s profiles without this procedure kinda makes the whole blackmail field even again as they also have to reveal their kink and do the photos to be able to see you. Damn... this really isnt an easy one to find a solution for is it?

I'm reading through this thread and I can only be left with the following thought: Why aren't people using their own personal filters? I've never been scammed on this site as I read profiles critically. I've never had to prove my realness to anyone here because I am forthcoming. The real issue I see is people want to jump into bed much more quickly with one another and want another agency to take responsibility for validating their choices. I take my time. No one rushes me, no one pushes me, no one validates potential partners other than me. I'm in control of this process and I am responsible for it. - LA

Honestly, I'm not trying to pick on you but I think people make this more difficult than it should be. My take on this...if you choose to chat with someone that you can't meet in person within a short period of time or can't talk with on skype then you need to accept the consequences of your choice. Looking for local (within 100 miles is local for me) folks can be limiting but I have limited time to spend on someone overseas that I may or may not be able to meet with a view towards a relationship. That doesn't stop me from having online friends but it does serve as a reminder of realistic expectations. I expect coffee within a reasonable period of time. [:)]

Syrox: I'm guessing that the site you suggest is a pay site. The Mods here are volunteers! Can you imagine the bleary eyes of anyone approving all those photos? Even if they do get paid to do so? And I have REAL red flags when I see 3, 4 or 5 photos required. Be very careful! Where's the proof that those photos aren't used for black-mail? After all, you've given them real name, address, e-mail address, just about everything except phone # and your soc.sec.number. Easy enough to get your employment info! Why 5 photos from subs? More black-mail potential! ! ! ! WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!! I was a copy editor for a national gay social/porn magazine for ten years. Can you imagine what kind of porn I've seen? Can you imagine what kind of porn I have to use to get any reaction? Ooooppps! TMI and drifting (due to my frustration at not finding such porn, but drifting nonetheless. LOL!) Some of the scammers have (over the past year or so) been tailoring their scam/spam as to my profile. USed to get "I'm a straight sub female" now I get "I'm a gay, sub male." Still, though, I can smell 'em at a glance. (HUH? "Mixed metaphors," says the copy editor.) So, as I said before: "Block, report, delete." If enough people report, they "auto-magically" go away. <edited for clarity> <ETA> And, syrox, if the site you suggest is NOT a pay-site, then the possibility of them being a spoof is 100%

The point I was trying to make was the idea of face shots with the random number. LH. I appriciate your concern and advice, but I'm not as green as my post count suggests. No it is not a pay site (I would never pay for a matching/meeting site. hence why Alt.com is a total waste of time for me.) Also, where is the proof that they ARE used for blackmail. your post does however strike me as one made by someone who is perhaps talking form a negative experience in the past? I only quoted what I have found as a possible solution tot he fake profile issue mentioned in the OP... a POSSIBLE solution.. I dont hold it up as the only one that might work.. merely a starting point for debate.

I am of the firm belief that I shouldn't have to post full body nudes of Myself on the net. It doesn't even have to do with what someone might do with them. As a Dominant woman, I'm not subjecting Myself to that. Yet, I've been able to meet over a hundred people on this site that I can verify. This has ranged from small private gatherings, to munch groups, to national events. If I know that I am going to one of the events that is listed in the Upcoming Events section, I will post on that thread to say that I expect to be there. If I have a demo coming up where I am going to be the presenter, I will create a thread on that forum. When I meet people from here, I post on the Positive Experiences forum about the good time I had. This is one of the very few areas that I will make this statement. If you can't meet people from this site, you are doing it wrong.

Simple face shots with a random number would do for verification... that site in particular went WAY too far IMO. but if we are to assume it IS a genuine site (no idea... haven't joined for obvious reasons) at least they are making SOME attempt to keep the fakes to a minimum. Also I have met up with 3 people from this site. 2 of them are now extremely good friends in real life as well as a generous handfull of on-line friends. so it's proof that it can happen and I've only been here a couple months all in all. The trick ALWAY HAS TO BE... Be honest, be yourself and be open minded.... do those and who knows where this site CAN take you.

You aren't the only person to have had this idea (obviously), and most scammers have more than one 'blank' that they use for this (some are extremely bad, others are damned near perfect). As I mentioned in a previous thread, it is standard protocol for scammers to ask their vics for ID and photos, and these are kept and re used. I once had to tell some poor dude from Wisconsin that his passport scan and pics were being used in at least 6 different scams, and there was nothing that could be done about it. Never, ever send a passport or DL scan to anyone over the net. All that said, this site gets approximately 500 new profiles every day. Who is supposed to look at each one, let alone verify that it is 'real'?
