I am pro choice. As a man I dont believe I have a right to tell women what to do with their own bodies. It is entirely up to the woman on whether she gets an abortion or not. I dont think abortion should be used non shalantly as another form of birth controll. Although we do need to keep that option open for certain situations. Thoughts?

What about pro-the development of artificial wombs, in order to make the...extremely tricky moral problem....obsolete by allowing pre-birth adoption?

Most of the difficult questions aren't black or white, and applying either or labels like that to such a thing isn't helpful.

Over here it isn't an issue, there was some comment on it a while back, kids surviving earlier and earlier births, maybe should take the limit down a bit (its 24 weeks IIRC)...but in the end general consensus not to....and, that's it, not heard a single politician (or anyone) mention it since.

I also think it's highly dubious to make the argument that way, as in the eyes of people of the opposing view, it's not the womans body, but the childs, that they're worried about. Saying, loudly, angrily, and repeatedly 'I can do what I like with my body' when you're well aware that isn't the issue....won't lead to anything but the pointless divisive soundbite repitition & mouth word putting* of american politics.

*I'm sure there's a more concise way of saying that....

I am pro life AND pro choice.
Women have the right to chose, I may not agree with their choice, in fact except in certain circumstances i will flat out disagree with their choice to terminate, but that is MY opinion, and my opinion should not matter to them in regards to their life choices.
Personally I cannot say I would *never* have an abortion because, having worked as a disability carer and having 2 disabled nephews in the family, I feel that 'quality of life' is a crock of shit.
But again, that is my choice, and the opinions of others who disagree with me, do not matter to me.
For ANY other reason I would never consider an abortion.
Not even rape.

And my last 2 cents worth ... try searching this topic, it has been done to death, dug up, defrosted and done to death again, and again, and again!

*Sits back and steals some of Rules popcorn*

Pro Choice definitely, your body, your choice.

And those anti abortion nutbags spewing their venomous filth at the women who choose need a fatal beating.

I doubt any woman skips merrily to the clinic for a quick D and C before lunch.

I got to agree with Twistedwillow, I don't think women should have abortions, but abortion needs to be legal, safe, and clean.

Pro-life/Pro-choice here.

I'd rather see a child born, but there are some circumstances where it is not feasible for the mother to do so.  And let's face it.. current birth control methods ARE NOT 100% effective, short of abstinence.

If you scroll down to the bottom of this page there is a search function in the lower right corner. Type in "abortion" and you will receive many responses.

Welcome to CM.
