Missokyst -> Scene music... seen better days (5/24/2010 2:45:28 PM)

Ok.. I will admit it, I am old. I like most music I hear. For me there are good points from everything from jazz to country, from rock to classic. I have been a fan of music since my ears heard a cousin play the harp. I grew up in the days of the Beatles, whom I loved, but even then I still liked swing and twangy country.

My computer has about 30 G of music files... and some of that is right up with very modern music. The song Pain, from 3 days grace is one of my favs.. And recoil's breath control is near rapture. But.. my goodness has anyone else noticed the shortage of "up" music lately, particularly for background noise? Some friends of mine were discussing the musical choices in scene music. I know it is supposed to be a dungeon but I don't like feeling like I am in a mausoleum for 3 or 4 hours.

Does anyone else want to be flogged to something light? "come sail away with me"

When I am playing it is fun, joyous, exhilerating, happy.. why do so many scene'ish songs feel like there should be quasimoto in the background?

What about you? What sort of background noise do you like to hear if you use music when you play?

"Singing in the Rain" is a mine of inspiration.

Oooooo... I love guitar backgrounds. I am especially fond of George Harrison, or Eric Clapton.

I'll have to respond properly to this when Iam NOT sleep deprived.  There are several artists that I enjoy scening too that are relatively upbeat from the usual scene music recommendations...

Anything but Nine Inch Nails. Disgustingly cliché.

Hey - that's MY line![:D]
I have got to the point where music during a scene is just cliché full stop.

I agree no music is good too. But I find that dungeons tend to have background music because people seem to have a bit of difficulty gettting started or interacting beyond their small pods. Music will get people moving a bit.
I often thought of getting the owner to play something silly like "sunshine lollipops and rainbows"

See, I don't go to dungeons. Everything that I do, I do in privacy and intimacy.

Ahh.. I miss those days.
Done both ways, one is better, the other is convienient.
