Joran -> New variety of scam/spam or just new fetish? (5/18/2010 4:22:13 PM)

Recently I've been getting unsolicited c-mails from people implying I like underage boys, which is kinda annoying. Is it just me receiving this kind of mail? Is someone unbeknownst to me leading some kind of a smear campaign against me? Or is it just a new way of goading people into responding that some people want to get their jollies from?

Just thought I'd ask, see if anyone else is getting such c-mails.

For the record, I have bois from ages 19 to mid 50s - to me being a "boi" is a state of mind.

Why do you care what absolute strangers think?  Ignore the idiots and live your life.

Mebbe the FBI hasn't nabbed its quota of online pedophiles for the month and is trying entrapment?

If you get it here, report it to the site. If from elsewhere, perhaps you want to contact the FBI and let them deal with the pedophiles, they could track them down.

@stef : well, in some senses I don't, but in some senses I do care that prospective subs might avoid me because of some lie someone has told.

@DesFIP : I specifically said c-mails, but I doubt the FBI would be interested as I live in the UK. The point however is that I'm being accused (by implication) of being a paedophile not that I'm wanting to report someone for being one. Slander is not as I understand it the FBI#s remit. Reporting to the site is not really an option either, as it has both times been a third party telling me that he'd heard I was into that. Even if he gave me a cm username of the person spreading the rumours, how am I to know that it's not someone trying to raise trouble for another innocent (well, innocent of the claim) user?

The clueless folk who send such emails likely don't have any friends so who would they warn?  I think you're worrying over nothing.  Live well and let them wallow in their own issues.

What stef said.  Would you WANT to associate with anyone stupid enough to believe gossip like that?  Think of it as a good way to do some weeding out.
