Let me ask you this -- would you NOT go to Memphis, TN to see Graceland because of an unrest happening in Franklin, KY?  psst its approximately the same miles away as Kingston is from the West side of the Island. 

Popeye, you do realize that unrest is pretty common in Kingston yes?  While this may be a little more newsworthy because its connected to the US because the US wants this guy, Kingston has always been a very violent city?  Or are you simply wigging out on the media hype?

i have spoken to my parents who are down there.  They are in fear of omg omg sunburn and spent the day hunched over sailing a sunfish.   And when they were on the owner's boat, they were terrified when they spotted dolphins frolicking in the sea.  And i could barely hear my mom when i spoke to her over the terrified laughter and socializing of the "return dinner" for returned Couples guests.

And yeah there is crap going on in Kingston but you may want to look at a map of Jamaica.  Even the news article stated this unrest is localized far from the tourist mecca on the other side of the island. 

I am surprised you aren't posting the articles that say things like this:

I didn't comment on your media panic post yesterday because i didn't want to believe you would really post this crap as a motive to dissuade people from going to a very impoverished country that DEPENDS HIGHLY on tourism.   But now i see that is exactly your motive and you should really be ashamed of yourself because you are trying to use something that is not and probably will not effect tourists there at all unless of course they are stupid enough to wanna go see what its all about.

Believe me, my parents are actually down there, i would be the first to say don't go if this issue was going to effect anyone enjoying temselves in the resorts (where most people go) on the west side of the island.  Kingston is a long way from the west side of the island and anyone who knows anything about Kingston knows its always been a very violent city and many times has been a place of unrest not just this week.  A lot of why this is newsworthy is because the US wants this guy.
