Like many others, coffee is a daily ritual. Good coffee. Black.

There are times, though, when hot liquids aren't the best choice. I've never cared for ice coffee in the same manner as one would make ice tea (just pour the stuff over ice), but I have tasted (in coffee places) from time to time some delightful concoctions.

Who has good time tested ice coffee recipes to share?

Leaving my espresso on the counter too long during the Canadian winters ;-)

A light iced cappuccino with a chocolate and bright raspberry taste. Ok, it's not a true cappuccino, but you could also make this recipe with espresso if you prefer.
Ingredients:
•1/2 oz chocolate syrup
•1/2 oz raspberry syrup
•1/2 cup strong coffee, chilled
•1 cup milk
Preparation:
Pour the chocolate and raspberry syrups into the coffee and stir well, to dissolve the syrups. Mix in milk. Pour over ice cubes and serve.
If you find that the syrups don't blend in the cold coffee, try using hot coffee to start and then chill after mixing.

My recipe is the simplest one: If you are an insane person like me, you can enjoy putting instant Nescafé in a milk with ices. Especially Nescafé's espresso!

Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to your iced coffee.

cold strong coffee.... in a blender filled with ice cubes and add caramel syrup for coffee.( about two or three tablespoons) ( wal mart has the bottles of flavoring for coffee cheap) .. single serving pkg of instant hot coco mix and ice cubes.. blend and top with whipped cream and drizzle choc syrup over that.. Serve with a straw! ...its like a coffee malted... my landlady calls it a caramel moca chiller...its pretty fabulous! ( even without the caramel syrup)

For a cold drink: In a blender, add 1 cup of coffee, 2 or 3 tablespoons of chocolate syrup, 2 or 3 tablespoons of caramel syrup, scoop of vanilla ice cream. Blend until smooth. The chocolate and caramel syrup is to taste .. add or delete as your taste buds like.

This is just as good as a hot flavored coffee. Instead of blending and using ice cream, mix the coffee, chocolate and caramel syrups, and add milk to taste.

(Use the good chocolate and caramel syrups that you would use to make an ice cream sundae) [:)]

My wife will sometimes pour half a pot into ice cube trays and freeze it. Then she runs it through the blender with ice cream, milk and some caramel.

Make a pot of coffee, cool it off in the refrigerator. Put in a blender with vanilla ice cream and kahlua.

I like to do hot coffee with chili pepper and dark, bitter chocolate. Cool it and then yum.

Sunshine, thats an interesting recipe for coffee.  I think the easiest (and yummiest sounding to my taste) is Elisabella's recipe.  Kahlua Rocks!  (But I guess thats cuz its coffee liquor! [8D])  I'll probably always opt for a good, strong, black cup of coffee first because these other recipes sound more like desserts to me.  Delicious...but desserts.

It has been brought to my attention that ice cream does not need to be a regular ingredient.

So much for domly infallibility.

I tried some this morning with a serving size container of yogurt in a blender full of ice and hazelnut coffee.

Not bad...but not exactly ready to open a restaurant over it either....

Maybe a dash of spice. Cinnamon or nutmeg, perhaps.

I'm partial to New Orleans iced coffee.  It's a cold brewing method, so it tastes a little different than just pouring regular coffee over ice.

Mix coarse-ground coffee with cold water in a sun tea jar or another large container.  Store at room temp or in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours.  When the mixture is strong enough, pour through a coffee filter or fine mesh sieve to strain it.  Store in a clean container.  Add sugar and cream if desired and serve straight up or on the rocks.

Easy peasy.

I agree, although I am a coffee lover, sometimes when the weather is hot, hot coffee, is a little too much. That was until I first tasted  iced coffee. What a revelation, and for future reference, I watched the vendor make it.

What I watched the vendor do was use a nearly forgotten Coffee Essence I even remember from my childhood, ( Is that stuff still around, and I remember the original label), and mix the substance with ice cold milk from the refrigerator. So, not really the coffee I am used to, but what a wonderful drink that has the added effect that, that much milk, about half a pint, kind of staves off hunger.

I did a variation on the coffee I saw made, and poured the drink over rich coffee ice cream. Coffee drinker's heaven !!!
