Lately, I've been getting spam by a bot in my Collarme inbox. Same girl, same messager, every time, but different accounts every time. Same person, same picture, same everything, but different accounts. This is getting really annoying. Been happening about once a week for two months. How do I get someone like this banned, if that's even possible? Or do I have to delete my account now?

About the only thing any of us as users can do in this situation is block, hide, report, and delete. Perhaps those in charge will get just as annoyed with having those messages appear in their inbox as you are. Other than that, no, I don't think there is anything else you can do.

As for getting someone banned, I'm thinking that's along the same lines as creating "black lists," which is something this site does not tolerate. Between the mods and administrators, I'm pretty sure they'll figure out, on their own (with help from people reporting questionable profiles, messages, and forum posts), whether someone is abusing the site and if so, take appropriate action to stop them from doing so.

Just block the e-mails and hide the profile. It will stop after some time.

I've been receiving the same, so I delete and block. The internet is indeed worldwide so expect that crap everywhere. The "bots" are a money making operation, a successful one at that since there's a sucker born every minute. Someone's keeping them in cash or they'd go by the by (bye?).

And if you hit search up at the top and type in "spam" you'll see there's all sortsa threads about it. Nothing new. Join in the fun.

Actually I do believe that if you report it again and again, CM will block their IP. If they do, the person will need another modem and at least a total reload of their PC, along with using a different network card.

An IP is like a phone number, it is not all that easy to change. Your PC net card has one, your router has one and your modem has one. If you get your IP blocked you need all new stuff. And that includes a new ISP for most people. I don't even know if my ISP has a static IP right now, but I am not realy in danger so I have no need to know.

Maybe someone really has the hots for you. If so, try to bring them into the forum. We'll take it from there. These people can be vicious, to say the least. They can make you almost afraid to turn your PC on. And if the guy or whatever is really a pest, I will help. I can insult people without them even realizing it. They might wake up at 3 AM and say "that GD MF really fucked me up", like that. In fact, as strange as it might seem we might be able to talk some sense into the boy.

Spammers ? How about scammers ? I was playing with one and actually agreed to do what they wanted. All it was is to cash some foreign checks. Once I made it known that nobody gets any money until the check clears I have not gotten a reply. It's not even worth reporting.

Even with all the near anonymity this site provides, as well as a few other things, it is still the internet. Be as open as you would be like in a public place, like a shopping mall or something.

If this guy is really annoying, he might need a lesson. Go meet him, but do it with two big brothers who are Judo experts with macxhine guns. Deliver the promise "If you do it again you will be sorry". Just a knock at the door, nothing illegal. A threat ? Gimme a break, just say you felt threatened and it will go away.

Other than that, why not just play with the guy ? Use up his time. Don't fall for anything and NEVER go meet this asshole alone. But on mail, he is trying to get to you, he is infatuated.

What you have to realize first is that since you are the target, you already have the upper hand. Just use it correctly.
